This school is a hidden gem in Fayette County. The student/teacher ratio is low and the entire staff is very caring from top to bottom. We transport our 3rd-grade son out of district because the quality of his instruction and care is so high. Everyone there seems to have a vested interest in each child. All children are constantly greeted warmly by all staff members but made to behave correctly at the same time. Everyone has made special efforts on behalf of my son who has special needs. Even the custodian has taken the time to teach him about coin values and the presidents on them (and given him quite a few along the way!). Parents are always encouraged to volunteer in classrooms. Russell Cave is such a very special school that we've enrolled our typical daughter in kindergarten out-of-district there this fall. We've never had a problem there.
