This is an outstanding school system. For a small rural school division they provide an exceptional academic program. This is one of the few schools in this region that has been fully accredited over the past 12 years. It provides a remarkable number of extracurricular activities there is a very diverse student population and a faculty and staff that is caring professional and dedicated to the students and the community. The learning environment is productive and safe for our students. I have seen and been associated with a lot of school systems during my life Floyd County is one of the best and safest communities to raise and educate your children.

Terrible School. Typical small town ignorance without any of the warmth. The superintendant is an embarrasment and the faculty can help but fail as they work under an uninformed misguided advisor. I urge any parents to send their children anywhere but here. If you value your child's understanding of the world let them thrive in an environment that is not full of rubbish. I wish I could give this place zero stars.

i attended high school here. I believe that the teachers administration and staff are all very supportive of everything that e did in the time that i was there. They are all very nice and would do almost anythign for their students. The all prepared us very well for our futures. The school as a whole are all very supportive of each other as well. i believe that i made friends not only with my fellow peers but also with many of the faculty and still talk to them everyday. Class of 2008.

The availability of extracurricular activities and the support of these programs by school administration as well as students is outstanding. This includes sports programs as well as educational programs. The variety of opportunies is astonishing for such a rural school. The academic curriculum is superb for this area. I would like to see the teachers recieve more credit for their efforts and perserverance. My daughter scored a perfect 600 on her English SOL's while attending Floyd High School. How many schools English teachers and parents can brag of such an accomplishment? The school atmosphere may be intimidating to outsiders at first because this is a rural community with strong ties to family. We moved to Virginia several years ago from Florida and my children have made life long friends from within the Floyd County school system. I would not have chosen to educate my children in any other environment.

The teachers at Floyd County High are awesome and the Principal's are the best! I do not care what all you stupid people have to say about FCHS! The Sports are great and the coachs really care about there players! I would never go to a different High School and I would not send my children to a different high school! I love it at FCHS!

As a former student of Floyd High School I was not born and bred in Floyd COunty. I moved there from Virginia Beach VA. My sister and brother attended school in Floyd as well as my niece until recently. I felt out of place and totally isolated for the first few weeks at the school because I was considered an 'outsider' but if you make the effort the students can be wonderful friends. I have a few that I still communicate with and remain good friends with. I did move back to Virginia Beach after college and eventually to North Carolina but my family still lives in Floyd and I thought the school was pretty good.

The administration at this school is pathetic. Discipline is a joke. The favoritism at this school is blatant. The school operates on the 'good old boy network' meaning if your family is born and bred in Floyd you will have no problems at the school. I am very disappointed with the school system and hope to remove my child asap.
