This school is amazing!! They are organized professional and real work hard to make things run very smoothly. The school is overcrowded but they are working on fixing it and in the mean time have great measures in place that address the issue. The administration is helpful and listens well. I would recommend this school to anyone!!

School is way overcrowded this year. Probably the largest elementary in FBISD over 1200 students. There are 11 temporary building this year only three last year. Moved our son to Pecan Grove Elementary for his final (5 grade) year.

In the past the teachers have been great. But Oakland has a new teacher named Search. She is known to falsify scores and not care about her students. I would expect that the principal would have had better screening prior to hiring a teacher that is known in the community as being unethical.

You can't go by these reviews. I had my last comment deleted because I used a teachers name that my daughter and I didn't like. I notice that everyone else is naming a teacher but that's o.k. if their comment is good. My rating should have stayed even if my comment was taken out. I only give Oakland 3 stars I have many kids that go there and they have some great teachers but a lot of really bad ones too. They also have a new principal that I'm not impressed with at all.

As a former teacher - I am very involved in my children's education and this is by far the best school in FBISD - my two kids have had the most amazing teachers in all grade levels - including Ms. Levin - who was fabulous! Every year just gets better and better- and my kids love to go to school where they know they are loved and cared for each and every day! These teachers are dedicated professional and go above and beyond for our kids each and every single day!

This is our 3rd year at Oakland and we could not be happier. I am involved in the school's PTO and have seen things "behind the scenes" and am impressed with the administration as well as the teachers. My daughter has had 2 amazing teachers and we are looking forward to this next year!!

The Principle and staff are great but it's the teachers that make the school. I have 3 kids at Oakland 2 at the high end and 1 at the low end. Some of the teachers that my kids DID NOT LIKE are Mrs. Levin Mrs. Esmond and Mrs. Holzhausen. These 3 teachers ignored my bright kids and then treated my son who has special needs badly. Teachers that my kids LIKED are Mrs. Tjerina Mrs. Ollre and Mrs. Rubin. I hope that next year my kids like their teachers but so far they have a 1 in 2 chance that they won't.

I decided to build a house in this area mainly because of the schools. Elementary and middle. I am so pleased with the teacher and the how friendly the teachers are to the students. The last school my children attended was a horrible experience. The teachers did not treat any of the kids with compassion or respect especially during lunch. At Oakland i feel at ease that i dont have to show up everyday to check on my child. The education is by far the best. Keep it up Oakland. And thank you! Mrs.Meza

My oldest son is in kindergarten here and we couldn't be happier. We are quite picky about education and moved away from another area because we were not happy with the stats we saw for those schools. We ended up in the Oakland Elementary zone in our move and have been very impressed and so glad we ended up here. Thanks Oakland staff for a wonderful education experience! My son loves it and is doing so well!

My daughter finished Kindergarten here and my son is in speech at 3. Both have received great help from their great teachers. Our daughter really bloomed as the school.

My daughter is in the extended day program. I can drop her off between 6 30 and 7 30. The extended day program is clean well-lit appropriately furnished and chock fill with fun but educational toys (like stratego lego computers etc.) I couldn't get to work on time without this service. But beyond being a necessity it feels like such a luxury and its a good price.

Wow I can not say enough about the level of organization that the school has. I never thought I'd send my children to a public school but we decided to give it a try this year. My son is so happy and he enjoys going to school I could not be more pleased.

My child is in Ms Mcleans class for Kindergarten and we couldn't be happier. We love how smoothly everything runs at the school. My child is always happy to return to school everyday. Oakland seems to have it together! Would highly recommend.

I have a child that attends the PPCD program and has special needs. I am very happy with the way the teacher and her paraprofessionals run the classroom. I also love the fact that when I drop her off I don't worry about her safety. She is taken care of very well. The other teachers in the school seem to be very nice.
