The special education staff was uneducated about Asperger's Syndrome. They did everything wrong. It was a nightmare for my son.

I would like to highly compliment the principal Jeff King in several categories. First I find him to be very approachable and polite whether he is talking to a parent or student. He is easy to talk to and very friendly. Second he has been very responsive to the individual needs of my daughter a student at Jefferson Middle School. He seems to care that her educational experience is a positive one and he has good advice for her future education as well. Finally he is very organized. Back to school night band concerts notes home etc. are all neatly done and on schedule. Thank you Mr. King! My daughter is happy at this school!

The experiences I have encountered at Jefferson Middle School were not very good ones. The three years I attended there were the worst years of my life. The educational system there is poor and there are a lot of social and discipline problems. The staff there care more about behavior issues than education itself. The classes are so easy you can basically sleep through them and still pass. Extracurricular activities are unorganized so if that doesn't tell you anything I don't know what will.

I love the teachers kids and staff. Kids will learn a lot at JMS!!!

The principal and staff have a hard time with discipline and listening to the students which they say come first. There is also a major bullying problem there.

I think this school is horrible at dealing with bullying and discipline. I am seriously thinking of homeschooling and my son because comes home every day depressed and crying because he hates this school. But jefferson has great teachers and have high test scores thats the one good thing.

Our Grand-daughter has a disability with her eye which causes problems with reading. Because of this she is falling further behind in all subjects with no assistance or even suggestions from the school administration. The class sizes have grown from 21 per teacher (2003-2004) to the maximum of 35 (2006-2007). In addition to this the school's completely new administration is unable to give the needed attention to the children who desperately need more individual assistance and it gives the appearance that the no-child-left-behind policy is thrown to the wind. Calls to the Superintendent only get referred to the same new people with no results.

The academic process is unbeliveable. My daughter came to Jefferson knowing barely anything about math always failing math and going to summer school because of it. After her second report card at Jefferson she was acing math and every other subject. In addition to that she wasone of the best students in her class.

Jefferson is a really great scool and the teachers are really good and a lot of my friends came from elementry getting D's and now lots of them have B's and A's. The sports here are really good; we always win city volleyball. The teachers are really helpful and we have a really active PTA and Student Council. The addministration is really good. I love it here at Jefferson.

My daughter came into Jefferson with D's. I wasnt able to help her. I was getting frustrated no one from her elementry school would help because she wasnt LD. Jefferson started a tutering program during her 6th grade year. I jumped on it! She is in 7th grade now. So far she is getting A's and B's!Thank you Mr. Morris!
