The serious problem of bullying is brushed off as kids play by the second grade teacher (supposed to be a social skills development specialist) and the non-caring principle. To those two caring for students is just a way to get a paycheck after extensively working with the teacher and the principle then the district I realized they don't give a flying hoot about the well-being of students who are victims or bullying.

Not enough Adult supervisors during recess they have a couple of parents/volunteers helping one of them have an attitude problem kids are not looked after very well principle operates as if she was on a temporary duty assignment!
I couldn't be more happy with my son's kindergarten class. We have an excellent group of kids thanks to all work of the parents with their involvment when they can and excellent parenting skills at home. I can't say enough about our kindergarten teacher. She has excellent teaching skills and thinks of fun creative ways for the kids to learn. The kids just love her. My son is truly enjoying his class and is even sad when he has no school.
I am very unhappy with the Kindergarten Program in Audubon. The teacher is mean and keeps making personal comments to me about my child. This creates tension to the parent and affects the childs personality. Not all kindergartens are stellar students. I mean they are just 5 years old. You need to be patient with them and not always be critical. I am so totally upset by this teacher and feel my little child has missed out on the magical experience of Kindergarten. And apparently this teacher is rated as a very good teacher! Wonder if this really true. Send your kid to another school where the teachers are human and empathize with you and your child! BTW my child is perfectly normal and is not a problem to teach!
Amazaing teaching techniques . Great attitude of teachers and focused strongly on science and technology . Very interactive teaching at 3rd and 4th grades . My kid learnt so much intense science with lots of practical examples .
Great students parents staff. Very strong community feel. Computer lab is used and led with useful and educational projects. Music exposure is light but appreciated. Academic focus is fairly storng.
I have mixed feelings about Audubon. Quality of the teachers is OK. Technology and resources is great. There are many great programs in place. PTA is quite active although not very efficient or open to ideas innovation and overall improvement.
I love Audubon School in Foster City. The administration and teachers are top notch. Parent and PTA involvement is very high and my kids have been very happy here. The teachers have been fabulous. My older two kids went to private schools and did not receive a better education than my younger son that attended Audubon years ago and my youngest child that attends Audubon now. The school is very diverse and has so many great programs and activities. The school is connected to two beautiful parks and has many playgrounds on campus as well. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful. It is a very safe school and I can't say enough good things about this school!
My son finished Kindergarten here and it is amazing to see quickly he developed in a year. He started with no reading skills and fairly good in alphabets/numbers. But by the end of the year a big thanks to Mrs.Hill he is reading above grade level and is very good in Math. He has gained a lot of confidence in the use of computers thanks to the wonderful computer lab that Audobon has. In comparing Audobon with neighboring Brewer Island (where my elder son went) this is a far better school in all aspects of learning and social interaction. Everyday I walk by the playground and I see kids playing nicely and no sign of bullying gives a parent a big relief that their child will be safe here. Thanks to the PTA and Ms.Brady Audobon elementary is a great school to send your child to. Parent involvement is high and it shows in the performance of the school and kids.
As the parent of a special needs child the support from his RSP AIDE TEACHERS and principal has been great! Thanks for peace of mInd! K.
i just moved in to foster city in january 2010 and the response and the way my child was accepted was amazing from the very first day he liked his school and techers and the class activities etc...
Fabulous school Outstanding teachers Wonderful computer lab and lots of family/community involvement...all of which make Audubon Elementary and outstanding school.
great teachers who are very devoted to their students. Lots of great programs field trips and learning experiences
Great school. Wonderful teachers hard-working students nice families.
Mrs Fukumoto is the best teacher my daughter could get. The school wonderful...the teachers...the facilities....the ethnic diversity...wow.
A top level school the continues to produce some of the highest API scores in the state. While understanding another parents concern for kids w/ disabilities - I found issue with all the red tape one has to go through - but that comes from the state & I don't believe it to be a reflection of the school itself. -My child had been given a wealth of resources - so hang in there- it will happen. Great & involved Principal teachers and parents. This school gives a lot to its students & parent involvement is high and expected - This school produces some wonderfully educated and well rounded students.
I am concerned about their lack of resources for children with special needs.
I'm quite satisfied with the qualiy of academic programs here at Audubon Elementary.Level of parent involvement is pretty high too. There are quite a few extracurricular options available though I wish there were more educative field trips.
This is an excellent school. The children have weekly music art cooking and computer times in addition to daily PMT-physical exercise. The teachers and staff are very friendly. Field trips have included the Oakland Zoo and San Francisco California Academy of Science. This school has very high parent involvement. My daughter's kindergarten class has one volunteer parent scheduled for every day of the week (I volunteer bi-weekly.) There are at least five parent volunteers for each field trip.
Audubon is an excellent school we moved into this neighborhood specifically for my child to attend audubon (and then bowditch). My child had gone to several(!) schools before settling at audubon so we do have means to compare it with. The teachers staff and principal at audubon are clearly of a higher caliber; everybody is professional and skilled.
