GMS is a great school. Access to challenging curriculum and fine arts. The principal is strict and keeps the kids in line something many of their parents can't or won't do. I feel my child is safe in an optimal learning environment and will be well prepared for high school.

My son entered Gadsden Middle (GMS) as a 6th grader. GMS really does a good job of transitioning six grade students from elementary to middle school. Six graders have their own hall and are separated from the 7th and 8th for 95% of their school day. Seventh grade has been a different ball game. This year my son hardly ever has homework. 7th grade math and science are a joke which probably contributed to why 40% of the Gadsden City class of 2008 did not graduate and the school s low SAT scores. GMS is ironically considered the best middle school in Gadsden. This misconception is really sad. There are many good kids here who deserve a quality education. We are actually moving out of Gadsden this summer so our children can receive a better overall quality of education.

The school is strict which I find positive in todays world. My daughter loves this school. She transferred this year. Has not had any problems at all. Very glad I chose Gadsden Middle/Disque over Sardis!!!!!!
