Do you really think 5th graders should be able to handle fully blown algebra during the first month of school? Should children be required to hold their bladders all day to make it to class in four minutes? Should students have to carry the entirety of their supplies around all day because they aren't allowed to use the lockers? Should children be ridiculed by staff if they haven't picked up cursive yet? Should African American children be allowed to call each other racial slurs with impunity? Should children be allowed to eat pizza for lunch daily at a snack bar? Should the police be allowed to intimidate 11 year olds for minor infractions? Should the staff be allowed to dress in inappropriately tight short and revealing clothing? Well if the awnser to this is yes and you love disgusting neighborhoods give this school a try!

On the first day of school was the greatest for me . These kids had so much respect for each other every one knew every one. They were all happy to see each other are were ready to learn.Dunbar is # 1 in my book ... The teachers and Staff are you really nice people. The principal is really well liked... I just wish we could get a PTA formed.... Well my son just can't stop talking about how much he enjoys learning from his teachers ... He is never bored...Thank You

My daughter has just ended a wonderful year at Dunbar. She was in the accelerated classes and was defenitely challenged to her highest ability. The teachers at this school were always positive toward her and fellow classmates. There were many projects through the year to keep up with and there was a lot to learn from each one. The schedule got a little hectic at times trying to meet all the deadlines but I would reccomend this type of structure to anyone with an 'eager to learn' student.

This school is the greatest! My daughter goes to this school and its simply great in teaching. The principal is great too. There's some parent involvement though they do not have to get involved if they perfer not to. Their is a lot of after-school activities- drama club student council and a learning program.
