My children are in their second year here at East Knox. We are very pleased with their education. Our children were in a private school before and we all felt it was time to move away from that. I like this school system. They seem to really care about the kids. I feel this school system is moving in a direction to do the most for the kids education and extra-curricular activities. What I like is that it reminds me of when I was in school. We don't have to worry about throwing out the holiday traditions activities or concerned about being 'politically' correct. If some of the parents aren't happy try researching about schools in the larger cities and find out what is going on there. East Knox is doing a great job and the superintendent seems to be striving for even better things for the kids future.

I believe East Knox Elementary has come a long way in the past 2 years. They are teaching from books and not copied papers. The teachers at the Elementary School truly care about their students. They have developed a 'homework session' after school and have transportation available at drop-off points. I believe they are heading in the right direction. All good things take time changes don't happen over night.

This school offers very little for the student who is college bound. The advanced classes are very limited. As for the elementary there are many classes that do not have enough books for the students. They use handouts to teach the children. This may be ok for the average student but when you have a student that is struggling books are needed. They send school work home and if the child doesn't understand you have no book for the parents to look at and assist this child. Also the books that they do have are so outdated it is scary. I understand this school is stuggling financially but instead of looking at ways to cut administration cost they look at cutting the teaching staff or go to the community for more money. The teaching staff and students should be the number one priority but that doesn't seem to be the case.

East Knox has done a really bad job of addressing multiple intelligences in their classrooms. They unfortunately have not been up to date on the current teaching methods and strategies. They are teaching through lecture and worksheets which doesn't even address most of the students. They have been in the school for a whole month now and have not been able to use a computer or go to the library once. I am extremely disappointed with the quaility of education here and the lack of professional development on the staff's part.
