I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!! The staff is absolutely wonderful. The Guidance Department works with parents and students to get them what they need. It's evident that they truly care about those they serve. The office personnel seem happy to be there and happy to help. From what I can see Groves has a great program for special needs kids ...I do not have experience with this department but I see the buses out front loading and unloading each day. During this period I see attendants working with the kids to get them loaded. Another thing Groves has is interpreters for the deaf children. There are presently four deaf children there. I have seen two of them involved in sports and the interpreters actively working with them during sports activities. I have met several coaches and they have welcomed me as a parent with open arms. The class sizes have decreased by 50% so the teachers can give better attention to the students. The ESL (English as a Second Language) program is top notch. I would highly recommend this school to anyone...don't listen to the rumors about this school it's wonderful.

There are times at which Groves can be a little chaotic but all in all it isn't a terrible school . The teachers really care for their students. The students aren't always the best but there is no such thing as a perfect school. Unlike some schools education is the main focus. They aren't constantly attacking students for breaking minor rules such as dress code however it is addressed. I enjoy Groves. The students are very much accepting as well.

Grove is a horrible choice for sending anyone there. You won't learn much and things get hectic and confusing pretty quick pertaining to grades and placement and testing. I was told during the summer retakes that i did not have to take the EOCT over even though i failed. I passed the class with a 73. But the teacher neglected to tell me that Graduation requirements state that you must pass the EOCT in order to graduate. I am class of 2016 and as you should know we don't have to take the grauation test in 2016. This school lacks coordination and consistency .Many students are leaving Groves this year and the population rate will go down further.

I am a student at groves currently and I recommend it today I can not speak on how it was int the past but I can say that over the last year or two it has gotten a lot better with the students off and gone to new hampstead the environment is a lot smaller which makes it better for learning and less fights so I would recommend it to anyone. The school could use a paint job or remodeling it is old !

I went to groves for 3 years in my final year had to drop out with 3 weeks left of school because of fear for my safety was not a shy student played 2 sports and had a lot of friends but we were considered in a racial war because african americans didn't like us. there was a fight almost everyday and drugs in the school were bad. however at the time some teachers did care not all and if you played a certain sport a teacher didn't like you were treated poorly and different than others. The test were low at the time and should be because most people that went there did not study or do the work required.

Groves High School.... Where do I start..... At lunch time the common areas could def be compared to a small war zone with the fighting. My son went to Groves after moving to the new residential areas in Pooler and will NOT return under ANY circumstances! In fact after learning the school fired over half its teacher and failed horribly on the state standarized testing on top of the entire school and curriculum being restructured my son will be attending homebased public online high school at k12.com/gca. Groves is a poor excuse for a school and a epic failure in the education department. After trying for 2 weeks to speak to someone regarding my sons education at Groves I still have not heard back from anyone that can give me statistics on the new curriculum as I was told was proven to work.

As a student at Groves High School I think some teachers don't care if we learn or not. They just care that they're gettin paid. And I also don't feel safe at Groves. Administration is terrible.

I'm a graduate of Groves and is very disappointed with the school now. The Teachers that I have came in contact with are good and are trying but the principle the ghetto students and the way the school is ran is a joke. I am ashame that I even went there. I really hate this school now and I dont use the hate word but the way that Groves is now it's awful. After this year I'm really going to try my best to pull my child out and enroll him into Jenkins.

As a former student of Groves High School I can not speak well for the school. I came to Groves as a freshman this year and within the first week we were having problems. The teachers are excellent and the education is okay but the students within the school make it quite hard to enjoy. Groves had it's trouble makers just like every other high school I will admit. But it seemed as if the teachers had no control over of the students. I suggest placing your child in another school if he/she isn't strong willed and willing to put up with problems. I'm faced with applying for homeschool at this point which is NOT the best option.

My son was in the Senior English class that was without a teacher he passed! If you ask for the help it is there the other Senior English teachers took on a great responsibility in helping those Seniors seeking help to pass the class and graduate. More parents need to be more involved in their childs education it starts at HOME. I have a Sophomore at Groves that loves the school teachers and staff and I am involved. The school has an open door policy for parents I suggest you take advantage of it and see what your children are doing you are probably only getting half the story. Go REBELS!

Groves high school seems to be making the adjustments that are needed to be above and not beneath the state requirements.

Groves High School is not a bad school. The Teachers and Staff are working hard to improve the school. We have made big improvements the past four years in most subject areas. We had the second largest grad. class last year. We must be doing something right.

This is one of the worst schools i have ever seen. My child attends groves high school. It is his senior year and his Senior english class has been without a teacher the whole time. This school does nothing to try and help their students pass. This school cannot even get their credidation. Very awful school avoid sending your children here at all costs.
