Clopper Mill ES is an up and coming school! I have found the new principal whom was leveraged from a A+ school to be doing great things here!

The school is striving to become great. Once I became a parent of this school I knew I was misinformed. 1.All of the children are bad My children are very respectful caring and morally rich. They have made friends with children that possess the same traits. Clearly all of the children cannot be bad. Any children that are misguided I don t worry about because what is learned at home translates to the classroom. I know my children will not be misled. 2.The kids are less educated My children attended daycare with children from other elementary schools in the Germantown area. They learn on the same level are just as prepared and all of Montgomery County Schools are taught the same curriculum. 3.The families are low income In reality a lot of the families in the area own businesses and work for very prestige companies. I believe this opinion has come from the fact a lot of students are minorities. Unfortunately minority= low income to some people. 4.The leadership is horrible I have personally interacted with the leaders in the school. I Can t speak for the past but it currently has great principals and staff. Schedule a meeting and get to know them for yourselves.

Clopper Mill is an FANTASTIC example of Montgomery County Public Schools being one of the best in the nation. I would highly recommend this school to anyone concerned with a top notch program for their child.

This school has been AMAZING for my kids over the past 2 years. I understand that back in 2005-6 they had a rough transition period but I can state they have come along way in the past 8 years!

Clopper Mill is a top 100 school in the DC area for 2013! There is a reason that this school has been on the incline over the past two years! Excellent staff and academic programs! Clopper Mill may soon be a magnet school for the county!

This school needs a lot of work! It's just should not be called a school because it is a horrible learning environment

I'm very satisfied with the progress of this school under the current Pricipal. I like their dedication and involvement towards each student in academic social skills and trying to make them the best in all aspects. I personally feel that this school has a lot of possitive inpact on my kid.

I am a teacher at this school and am very proud of the progress it has made in the past four years. We set high expectations and work very hard at student achievement. I am proud to be apart of the Cougar family and encourage others to see the real CMES. Students have tremendous personality and are eager to learn as much as possible in the six-hour school day. Clopper Mill is in an economically disadvantaged area. The teachers do their best with what they have but many kids are unprepared for school and many parents have limited education and/or language skills themselves. The facilities are old but well kept and teachers do a good job of making it cheery.

My child would qualify as an honor roll student and is a high ranking student. This school gives attention to children who score on 'listening skills'. Academically clever kids did not share the center stage during the award ceremonies held quaterly. Teachers manage better with quieter kids but there shouldnt be an overrating of underperforming students. Success is determined on intellect and academic focus.

Children are receiving a lower education then other elementary school children in the area. Students at this school are not prepared for higher education not ready to move smoothly into middle school lack discipline lack respect for adults and other students. What the students are learning has been greatly reduced over the years and are far behind other elementary schools. Test scores have been very low for many years but no improvements are ever made. Current leadership in this school is awful. School has a very 'unfriednly' atmosphere.

Overall I am satisfied with the school and the quality of education that my child is receiving especially since I moved from New York to ensure that he would receive a good education.
