California Standards Test (CST)

In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

I am so grateful for Mr. Dent and ALL staff. My son was transferred here from El Roble where his 1st grade teacher verbally expressed last year. in 09 she wanted him suspended! I took teaching in my own hands and searched for something better. The school motto here is "We will do anything for our children to succeed." AND THEY LIVE UP TO IT! WE love our teacher Mrs. Foster she welcomes all my questions and concerns and is NEVER belittling. In the beginning of the year my son felt special coming home saying My teacher smiles at me! She smiles mom! My son is now in 2nd grade and a top reader and has won awards here he loves learning! Thank you ex El Roble principal Mrs. Pisano for telling me to "Never stop being your sons advocate" Love to all and No Child Left Behind Act.
