I loved Short Pump. The best school ever. I am at Deep Run and I really miss spms. They have good teachers. The best teacher is Mr. Wright (French teacher). There was bullying but it was taken care of unlike Deep run. The teachers there want you to have success. I would give the teachers a rating of 4.25

Short Pump is a great school. Some pros The majority of teachers are very nice and many make good use of the computers provided to the students. Also the overall mood of the school is good. Every classroom has windows and half of the halls have large skylights. The classrooms are well laid out and most have Promethean boards (touch screen white boards). The test scores are on average very good and the education you receive is above average. I can also say from experience that the Band teacher is excellent and was my favorite while I was there. Cons Lack of diversity Some bullying (although I would say it was more "selective exclusion" rather than direct teasing and such). There are a few sub-par teachers (not many though).

This school was gone downhilll this year. The class sizes are huge--my child's classes range from 31-39 kids per class. Many teachers left to go to Holman. The school is very disorganzised with kids only being given 1 day's notice for some cumlative tests and no study or review sessions. Teachers don't return assignments for weeks and grades are only posted once a month. I loved this school last year but now I'm planning to pull my child out and send them to private school.

I am currently an eighth grader at Short Pump Middle School. I believe that while I am attending this beautiful scool with lots of friends and no bullying i am also getting an excellent education. At my old school I worked so so so hard and recieved straight C's but the teachers at Short Pump use different methods and I've noticed an improvement in my grades straight A's!!! GO SHORT PUMP PUMAS!!! WOOT!!!

I'm an eight grader at Short Pump and I've had the best years of my life here. While some of the teachers I've had haven't been the most pleasant all of the teachers are fantastic and really know what they teach. We have great sports teamS and a great band chorus and strings. I have really enjoyed my time here and am sad that my time is almost over. Go Pumas!

This school is unsatisfactory in almost every way. Too much homework minimal lighting and oppressive teachers. The only plus side is the henrico public schools Ibook

I take one small issue with your ratings. I believe excellence begins at the top. Based on my direct involvement with the Principal Leadership at SPMS I would rate it Excellent. In particular their commitment to school safety is outstanding and I applaud that. Dan L.
