What a great school. Great leadership and very skilled teachers. The administration and teachers expect and receive the very best from their students. Parkway has a very positive climate.
This is an awsome school Besides the lady in the front office with the short hair and glasses. She is beyond rude. I don't think anyone like that shoulf be working around children.
My son is currently enrolled in K4 and I could not be happier. Great staff and teachers. Love Mrs. Engel -)
I have my son in K4 and one year ago I was thinking to send my son to private school since my husband and I did our education in a private school. We are so impressed how wonderful the education at Parkway is. They are very organized. Teachers are really very good as a person and as a professional. Any time that I call the school I receive the information that I need. I feel really happy that my son is receiving this great education and also the values that he is receiving at home. Thanks Parkway staff and Mrs. Engel.
I love it. My daughter loves it. The principal is wonderful; the lady in the office who seems to run the school nearly as much as the principal is super nice super helpful and great to all the kids; the on staff counselor couldn't be better and her involvement really is so helpful; the teachers care; the parents participate. My only complaint (?) - I wish I could drop off/pick up my kids instead of having them bused - at my daughter's old school I got to know the parents and other students better by seeing them on the playground before and after school. Many people love the busing though - very convenient and the bus driver is terrific.
My child attends Parkway and I am very pleased with the education and social skills she is receiving. I give Parkway and the Glendale-River Hills School District a '10' across the board!
My youngest child is currently attending first grade at Parkway. She has a phenomenal teacher who does an exceptional job in the classroom. The children all love her and they are constantly being challenged at a higher level so they are never bored. Parkway is one of the few elementary schools in the area that segregates the children based on their reading levels so that the classroom is filled with children all about the same level. Parkway has a fabulous library and computer lab. There is a lot of parent involvement at the school and for PTO events.
the staff are very friendly and open. everyone seems very helpful. I sense some disorganization in the drop off and pick up procedures.
I've had one child in Parkway from K5 to 4th grade and one from K4 to K5. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of education they offer and with the teachers. They make a big effort to include the arts and to provide opportunities for advanced and gifted students. We are moving and are now looking at private schools but I think that Parkway is as good as the excellent private schools we have looked at as a public school can be.
Parkway has a group of nice teachers. However the curriculm does not accommodate children with cognitive special needs such as Math or Reading. Additionally this school teaches to 'Tests' as opposed to preparing the students for future learnings. The teaching is focused on short term memory exercises.
