This is my daughter's second year at Silver Spruce Montessori and I can not say enough about thier program environment and the people there. Being a previous educator and now practicing child therapist I believe that the first several years of a person's life are the most formative. So I looked high and low for a preschool for my daughter when she was as young as 18 months. When I came across Silver Spruce my heat raced. I knew this was where she was ment to be. The school simply speaks for it's self. I recommend anyone to take the time and visit the school and find out for themselves the magic behind this hidden gem of a school.

We sent our children to Silver Spruce. Can't say enough about how caring and devoted Charlene Brian and all the teachers are to developing children to their fullest potential. We've observed tremendous amounts of individual attention particularly when a child is in need of extra support and encouragement. While some comments haven't been very positive I'm guessing those comments are from parents who don't seek constructive collaboration with the school to help their child(ren). Rather they delegate responsibility to the school instead of being responsible parents. A child's development is a team effort - but some parents would rather be spectators rather than play with the team.

Great school! I've been involved with Silver Spruce since its founding and it is second to none. This is a strong community with bonds like family. All schools profess their ideals. Silver Spruce lives up to them. Maria Montessori would be proud to see her philosophy in action each school day in Grafton Massachusetts.

I am the parent of a 3 year old who attends this school. I am a VERY involved parent and my experience has been positive. An example of how involved and attentive the teachers are My son had a tough time transitioning back to school after the long Thanksgiving break. He left the car screaming and crying. Like any mom I drove home in tears. I got a call from his teacher about an hour later telling me he was doing great! She told me she was sending him home with a special book to share with me that evening. My point of telling you this the teacher took the time to call me because she probably knew I was worried. This is what you want as a parent a caring & dedicated school staff that goes the extra mile! He is also learning TONS!

My husband and I could not be happier with Silver Spruce Montessori School. My daughter is in her 2nd year in the Elementary class and she is thriving. The teachers are very well trained in teaching the Montessori way. The Montessori philosophy of 'follow the child' is truly practiced at this school. For example early on my daughter took a strong interest in reading. She was allowed to 'run' with it and read as much as she wanted. She still needed to complete the other subjects during the day but her desire to read more was completely encouraged and nurtured. She was not forced to 'fit' into a curriculum but rather the curriculum followed her. As a result my daughter has grown into a confident self-assured child who feels she can accomplish anything she wants. She is respectful and has tremendous character. What more could a parent want for their child.

Be careful about the surface 'niceness'- We had a very bad experience with my 3 year old child. We put about 1 year worth of effort in looking for a good school and boy what a mistake we made choosing this one. They promised one thing before enrolling and after that as soon as the child was 'slightly different than the others' they did not want to put up with it and just 'blend him in the crowd'. As soon as that did not happend they just ignored him and he got to where he would come very upset at home back from school. If there's a conflict or issue they will not work with you to resolve it. Also if your child needs more time to learn and make friends they are not willing to give him this. A very big dissapointment and unpleasant experience for my kid.

Poorly trained teachers serious lack of supervision for the kids and saftey hazards made us leave after one year. Our worst school experience for any of our 3 children.

As a Silverspruce Montessori teacher I love the unique personality of each and every child I am responsible for. I take very seriously that a parent entrust their child to my care. Our school follows the philosophy of 'follow the child'. Our school mission is all about nurture and nature. Our parents are welcomed into our classrooms and may even observe anytime in our observation room to watch the children which is really wonderful. Our families are great and the family unit is an intregal part of our school community.

We love this school. The teachers are wonderful the facilities are bright and beautiful and the outdoor space is not only huge but very well designed with many different areas of interest. We couldn't be happier with our child's first school experience.
