Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

my school is not that bad but it needs to be cleaned up with computers

I went to GHS & graduated from there. It was a VERY easy curriculum when I was in highschool. I think if the teachers/principals would have been more focus on a better education for students rather than new disipline strategies our graduating class would have had a lot more students. Only about half of my class graduated. I remember one day my English teacher asked our class who planned on going to college & only half of my class raised their hands & all my teacher did was roll her eyes. As a current education major the thought of that makes me sick. I feel that most of these teacher just do whatever to get by.

I am a current student at granbury high school and i beleive that this is not neccesarily the best school. There are tons of fights and it is very political and the teachers play favorites a lot. I am involved in many activities and i have felt like i was not accepted because neither me or my parents had the money or time to put into to that activity simply because i am in other activities too. But i must say the ag teachers are the best thing this school has.

Granbury technology limits the webtools we can use making it difficult for technology classes and other none computer classes from teaching lesson online or doing researching projects online over all i give i give granbury 2 stars for not supporting new ways of teaching online.

I moved here from West Palm Beach Fl. to ensure my daughters would go to school in a a city with small town wholesome values. They have received excellent educations and have all the benefits of some of the finest school in Palm Beach Co. I am very happy with Granbury High School both of my daughters will be attending college in the next two years.

Granbury High School is above and beyond all my expectations. The teachers are wonderful the principal is one of the absolute best in the business and she loves all her kids. I could not ask for more. The best of the best! Extracurriculars are great. The soccer program is elite and the choir and bands are fantastic. They make Granbury proud.

This School district is a great school however there are some things that need to be changed. Part of the fact is that the schools are over crowded and they need to build a new high school. Overall the teachers and Principals are the greatest mainly because if you need help they are there to give it. As well as if you want to have parents constantly helping out come to this school district.

Granbury High School is a tremendous school. The principal leads with a servant's heart truly seeking the absolute best for the entire student body. The school offers an incredible array of courses from vocational to Advanced Placement as well as an incredible number of extra-curricular activities. The fine arts programs especially the choir and drama are second to none! The choir has been named the All-State Choir in 4A twice in the last 8 years. That's phenomenal.

    This school is a disapointment.

This school is a huge disappointment. I moved to Granbury 10 years ago for the schools and the atmosphere of a small town. I have a ninth grade student enrolled and am currently considering other school districts. The school is very politically motivated. Depending on your status in the community your child may or may not be afforded the opportunities given to others.

Granbury is a wonderful school with great teachers and great after school programs. It's a town where pretty much everyone knows everybody. It has a great atmosphere. Teachers really care about the students. Of course it helps on who you know.

Granbury High School is far better than its unacceptable rating. The New principal is a caring educator who puts the needs of her students first. She wil turn the school around.

I love the school because it does alot for the kids. Poor or rich it doesn't matter. I love the head principal Mrs. Butler. She helped my child with her Chemistry after school. My child raised her grade from failing to a 86.

I graduated from Granbury High School. I had some of the teachers that my son has. Most of them are really good. The counselors are great and I like the new principal. She cares about the students and supports the programs.

I went to Granbury schools from 1st grade on. I think this is a very good school even now that it is considerably much bigger than when I attended. The staff was always the cream of the crop. Great counselors and extra curricular activities.
