I am currently a student here (2009-2010) and I have learned so much and the school year isn't even over yet. Also Mr.H and Mr.K are the greatest teachers ever. I love it here and I am so happy that i left former school to come here. Even though I left my friends I made new ones and it was worth it to have this experience.

As far as I'm concerned there is not a better school in the state of Michigan!!! The things they're learning will help them throughout their lives and they have just a ton of fun learning. They develop leadership skills learn to work in groups and more. I can't believe the difference in the attitude and effort that's put into whatever project they're working on at any given time. They learn so much without even realizing that they're learning because they're great projects and the kids have fun doing them. Please don't misunderstand and think that the projects are easy believe me they are really difficult but the kids really don't seem to mind that they're expected to work as hard as they do. It's a wonderful school and I would recommend it to anyone who has a child that needs to be challenged. Believe me...they'll thank you!

I went to Zoo School just last year and I loved It. They work you hard but it is very rewarding!

Going to Zoo was the best thing I ever did. It was really hard though and if you didn't buckle down and work you got your butt kicked. However I met a lot of great people and I doubt I'll ever forget what I learned there especially the non-academic stuff like how to understand the woods the way the teachers do how to build a fire survival all that good stuff. If you're thinking you'd like to go I'd highly recommend it! You will have a blast!

Zoo School was by far the best experience of my life so far! I loved every minute of it! I will never have another teacher like Mr. H or Mr. K again! They are truly one of a kind. Zoo School is fun but you have to earn it. A lot of people think that Zoo School is all fun and games and that there is no work involved. Trust me it's not like that at all. Yes you have a blast and do many cool things but there is definately work involved. It's not a normal school. It's got a little bit of everything in it. If you're thinking about going there someday then you totally should! You'll love it!

i am a zoo school student and it is fun but you have to buckle down and get to work if you want to do a good job and it'will' be rewarding in the end (and because i go to school school i got first dibs to go to city middle/high) so i think if you want to go to go... GO!

As a parent of a zooey I am proud of how my daughter has grown throughout the year academically. She has become confident student that puts her heart into all she does. The qualities that Mr. K & Mr. H teach the children not only last during the school year but make an impact on the children (and families) for a life time! The teachers hearts are to cherish the environment and they instill this one student at a time! Thank you!!!

I am a former student and this school is great. They want nothing more than for you to succed and they try their hardest to keep you on top. This is a great school for your child if interested. class of 08-09

As a alumni of Zoo school a parent of a former Zoo student and the parent of a perspective student. I have to say that Mr. H. and Mr K. are still the best teachers around. These two men (and who can forget Ms. Velding) are the ones who make this program.

I am a student at John Ball Zoo Park School and I really really like it there. Now that the schoolyear is almost over I know that I will miss this school students teachers experiences and memories that I have or made here. I can't imagine going to a school next year and not going outside almost everyday or going to the zoo this much. I know that I will be crying my eyes out when i have to leave at the end of the year.

All three of my children have gone to Zoo School and it really prepared them for Middle and High school. They were way ahead of the other kids in 7th and 8th grade. Mr. K and Mr. H are wonderful with the kids and make learning fun.

I went to Zoo School from 02-03 and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. The teachers are amazing and they have the best time teaching. I would reccomend this school to anyone that wants to be pushed but have fun at the same time.

I attented John Ball Zoo School during 1997-1998 when Mr. Humphreys and Mr. Kretchman were still teaching. I am now planning on moving back to Grand Rapids and attending Aquinas College doing a Psychology/Journalist degree. I would highly recomend John Ball Zoo School for any student who is willing to work hard and have an awesome time.
