While this school is not the best around this is to be expected. This is a small rural community and that is what you will get when you enter the school. I am a current senior and while I do not love it here my most common comment I make to people is that if you want a better education than Greenville you are going to be commuting at least 45 minutes every morning. While other districts in Darke county may have nicer buildings their education is really even with Greenville. Most of the staff try hard to make the best of this district and the guidance and curriculum staff are very open to those who are willing to push themselves. We have had 2 graduates go to MIT in my memory one recently. The school will not hold someone back if they have the true drive to achieve. There are AP courses ACP courses (which is tranferable credit from Indiana University) and often the top students take full advantage of these courses. The music program is fantastic and even though the sports are not perfect those who participate enjoy them. As I said earlier unless you're willing to commute to Troy Tipp City or Centerville this is what you get for rural Ohio .

This school used to be great. But ever since 2008 they have had to cut so many programs. If students on sports teams need new uniforms they pay for them themselves. I have heard many of the other student refer to greenville as being "poor" daily. What used to be a great school is suffering. The district also needs new buildings badly but the resident refuse to pass levy so the district has started saving money by taking it out of teachers salaries. The teachers are overall good but lacking resources. Over all it's a good school in desperate need of cash.

I feel very strongly that this school district strives to offer challenging and fulfilling courses for the students. The music department is outstanding as is the vocational school. Consistently these programs have individual and team accomplishments at the state and national level. As with any school district there could be more parent involvement. However I do know that the elementary school that my children attend has on average over 95% of the caregivers of the children participate in parent-teacher-child conferences.

Hey I might not be a parent but I'm a student at Greenville High. It's a great place with lots of cool people and a good faculty and staff. It's easy for a kid if they pick easy classes but Greenville also pertains the ability to challenge even the smartest of people. Greenville High is very diverse it's a great place to attend and the people are generally accepting of others. There are a few misfits when it comes to that previous statement but nowhere is perfect. Check Greenville out it's great.
