Nightmare! We moved to Greenwich for the public schools but when it came time for high school we brought our daughter to GA so she could participate at a higher level in her sport. What a huge mistake! This place should be called Stepford Academy and is filled with Stepford wives and little Stepford wives in training. The entire school is geared to catering to the girls of rich families and if you aren't one of them your girl will be at the bottom of the class. That means in all aspects. She won't get the classes she wants the grades she deserves the attention from the college counselor she needs. We've heard story after story of the same thing from other families none of whom will speak up for fear of reprisals against their daughters. Keywords for GA hyper-competitive back-stabbing snobby over-privileged. I wish I'd heeded the warnings I heard before sending my daughter. Do your due diligence don't go on reputation. Thank God our other child is a boy and we'll be sending him to Greenwich High. Our daughter made a few good friends but even she says if she had to do it over again she would never choose to attend GA!

Greenwich Academy is a wonderful school. The teachers are incredible and they all have close relationships with their students which I love. The curriculum is challenging but manageable and definitely prepares you for college. Yes there are some girls here who are not the nicest but the majority of students are some of the friendliest and caring people you will meet. Classes are small and the faculty and administration are really looking out for your best interest. GA really gives you every opportunity to succeed and will go above and beyond to help you reach your goals. The sports here are top notch yet there is also a great appreciation for the arts. Overall GA is a fantastic school and you cannot go wrong sending you child here.

This school does a great job of giving every student the attention they need to succeed academically. It is very competitive and students who thrive when challenged will have great experiences here. However for those who easily give in to peer pressure or shy away from acting as leaders this is probably not the ideal school. It is easy for someone like that to succumb to insecurities and feelings of inadequacy because the expectations are so high and the vast majority of students are extremely impressive.

GA is an excellent school. All the girls are kind and thoughtful and stand strong against all the prejudice that they are rich snobs. They always try their hardest and the teachers push them to be the best they can be. There is a fantastic range of students who aren't afraid of sharing their thoughts and opinions. My children were enrolled recently and they can't imagine life without it. A fantastic school all around and I would highly recommend it.

I've been going to GA for a long time. It's competitive and extremely challenging. There are some incredibly rich and bratty kids but the majority are nice smart and pretty normal. GA is also good at handling problems. In Lower School I had a lot of them but they were wonderful in finding people to help me and very flexible. And I learned. On standardized tests I am in the top 99th percentile as are many of my classmates (I imagine I do not check their grades or anything)

All I can say is wow! GA is the best girls school in Greenwich. People say that the kids have everything but that is the case in every school in Greenwich especially private schools. The school is very hard each girl there has outstanding grades impeccable athletic abilities and passion for the arts. It is the perfect school for preparing your child(ren) for college. Definitely should be number 1 if you are looking for a school in Greenwich.

My children started at GA. I immidiately dissenrolled them when I saw the kind of children that attend GA. They are all snobby rude disrepectful and there is no discipline. This school is very unrealisitic and does not teach or prepare children for the real world. There is no 'trying out' or 'auditioning' its just signing up. There are way too many breaks from school and I felt my children did not learn much. I enrolled them in the Greenwich Public schools and could not be happier. PLease avoid GA at all costs!

Amazing school. It is very competitive but in a good way. It gives you a reason to try hard.

I graduated from GA a few years ago...I loved my time there and I wouldn't call myself the 'typical GA girl.' I had (have) a wonderful group of friends got involved in many activities and loved my classes and teachers. I'm no athlete (athletics apparently being our forte) but I can say that GA and Brunswick both keep improving their arts programs. Wick has a brand new theater! The GA-Wick partnership in high school...hard to explain. I loved guys in our classes and extracurriculars in high school though GA still felt like a girls' school. Sometimes I feel that I didn't get to know the boys in my own class very well. GA is competitive difficult super-preppy and sometimes over-structured but it prepares you for college well. Additionally I feel that it does exist in a bubble (especially because it's in Greenwich CT). Overall however I recommend it highly. Go Gators!

This school is so great. I go every day and I enjoy it so much. Both the academics and athletics are a challenge but the teachers are so kind and willing to help with anything we could possibly need. The teachers want the students to succeed so much and it shows. All the facilities are top notch clean crisp and pretty. The new 'green' middle school is great and motivates everybody to be kinder to our planet. This is an amazing school and I recommend it to everybody.

I hate it. Everyone is to competitive and if u get an 80 every1 thinks its a fail. Dont go there. It stresses tou out and there are no fun cubs to join. Life is suppost to be about making choices. At ga u cant make ur own choices they do it for u

Great School keep my children motivated and academically challenged at the same time. A large number of girls(including mine) qualify for the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth program. However the Athletics program is limited to 'New England Type' sports such as Lacrosse and Field Hockey not much emphasis in any other sport. Not a very diverse school (the world out there is...) although there has been some effort on bringing in minorities. Definetely a school for parents who are serious about their children's academic future. The school strives to involve children in extracurricular activities involving the community but sporadically effective. Discipline is highly regarded this I believe is key on this school. It prevents bullying reducing it to gossip... Overall 100% better than public school and fairly above average compared to other private schools.

I think the product of GA is fabulous and prepares our girls for College and the real world. Academics are tough and the athletic program is equally challenging. Students who attend must be mature and serious about themselves. It is not a place for the average student - terrible de motivator.
