I am a teacher in this district but am not biased. Monterey has been a great school for my girls over these past few years.

I have two children who went through Monterey Elementary School. Each had a great experience and did exceptionally well. I was very pleased with the leadership of the principal (Miss Ferry) and her obvious commitment to the children. Her leadership has really gotten the school on track and there seems to be a plan for improvement. I appreciate how well the school worked with parents and the fact that the staff was welcoming to both students and parents. Most of the teachers were very excited and dedicated and obviously cared deeply about their students. The school was very clean and well maintained particularly when considering it is an older building. I would definitely recommend this school to someone moving to the area.
I just love this school and so do my 2 children in this school. Mrs. Jane Ferry the principle is always seen in the hallways with the kids helping directing and being there for the kids when they need an ear! Mrs. Cindy is always there in the office to help at any given moment. The teachers there really care about the kids and they work outside the box to find ways to help the kids learn. I want to thank them all and keep up the good work. That school screams confindence to their kids and it shows through those kids everyday!
