Both my children go to River Trail and I love this school. It us up to date on technological learning with the use of iPads and a great tech educated staff. The community has many parent volunteers and the children are proud to belong. Some of the brightest students I've come across.

Gurnee Grade is now River Trails Schoool. We have moved into our new beautiful renovated building. We now are a "complete" package. Fantastic teachers great administrators and culture of working together with parents. Any issue I have ever had has been immediately addressed. Every student in this district receives their own iPad. This district is on the cutting edge! Lastly River Trails received Academic Excellence from the state based on their last ISAT testing. Lastly I'm not sure the comment regarding racial diversity is accurate. I believe River Trails has the same diversity across the district.

There is one thing that concerns me about this school Even though you live in the school district and you can even live right across from the school and you still need to enter an application and wait to see if you are approved to enter. In terms of ethnicity 66% White 16% Hipanics and 10% Blacks. So if you're White you have a greater chance to attend this school. I'm pretty sure that the white people are not the only ones that want there kids in Gurnee Grade School. This is something that should be investigated.

My child and I adore the teachers! PE every day and all day K is wonderful for those little ones. Not impressed with the focus of the current principal board and superintendent who seems to be waiting out retirement. With the building of the new schools this could be a real opportunity to make GGS comparable to high preforming schools in lake county. I hope decisions like ergonomic furniture from Germany or over sized district offices don't take away from keeping our school a competitive learning environment. Time to raise our library and science lab expectations and offer advanced programs in reading science..

My daughter has been at this school since she started school. She is now in the 6 grade going to 7th. I love the teachers. They actually care about the students and their well being. As a parent i am truly happy with this school.

I love the sense of community embodied by the staff parents and students. I also love that even in tough times our parents staff and students come together to find ways to continue to support the learning community that is Gurnee Grade School.

Such a wonderful sense of learning and community going on at this school. All of the teachers teach 'out of the box' and have prepared many students for high school.

Gurnee Grade is a wonderful place to learn. It is filled with creative fun loving teachers who truly enjoy their jobs. My children have not only learned how to achieve their academic goals but more importantly how to work with their peers in and out of the classroom setting. I am so proud to tell anyone who will listen about the education my children are receiving at GGS school.

The staff is outstanding in their dedication to the high quality of education they provide for their students. This school is literally crumbling around them and yet not one staff member allows that to impact the education of the students. You walk in that school and the positive energy is overwhelming. Every teacher knows every student. GGS alumni are welcomed back with open arms to visit. GGS is more than a school it is a second family. I consider myself very fortunate to have my children attend school at GGS.

The staff here has to put up with a lot from flooding to the building falling apart around them. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter yet they keep coming and coming. No one complains everyone smiles. Thank you GGS staff for teaching our children and creating such a good work environment .

WE LOVE OUR SCHOOL!! We moved into the area specifically to attend Gurnee Grade School and have not been disappointed. This is a small 'family friendly' school that I often describe as the 'Walut Grove' feeling from Little House on the Prairie. We love all the teachers and have had nothing but good experiences. We've been enrolled for 4 years and will be sad when one of our children graduates next year and has to leave! The teachers are kind and sincerely care about each student. A+ all around!

An amazing K-8 school where teachers REALLY care and kids have a feeling of support and family while attending school daily. Now - just need a facility that meets the quality of the people.

It is a GREAT school full of wonderful teachers. They create a family environment with the fewest resources in the District.

I really love the fact that GGS is dedicated to academics AND community. I feel very blessed that my children attended GGS.

Gurnee Grade is like a school from the past. The feel when you walk in is that of a family. My daughter can go visit her first grade teacher during her lunch even though she is now in 7th grade. It is a caring community that provides the academic challenges a student needs to function in our modern society. The teachers are all exceptional in their craft yet supportive and nurturing to the students. We love Gurnee Grade School.

I love Gurnee Grade School. The environment is very supportive. There is definitely a family atmosphere at Gurnee Grade. The teachers are very involved with the students from Kindergarten through eighth grade. I went to a parochial school as a child and GGS has the same feel as that private school. It's a great place.
