As a former student to this school i could tell you this place is horrible and i heard it got worse it seemed like all the faculty cared more about being fake police and trying to catch peiple for drugs and sending kids to om campus suspension if you try and ask a teacher for help they would jut give you sarcastic responses and most of the good teachers left got layed off or move to the freshman campus if you want your child to have a proper education dont send them to this football obsessed school send them to a. School that actually supports education

My grandson is a student at this High School. He is a sophomore with the Honors Band and The Honors Jazz Band. Harligen High School has a great band program and the band kids show it in their perforamances...If you have never seen this band perform you need to make it a point to see them. They are super!

Harlingen high school. Well i went to this school for fresh/soph yr and i have to say that it was a experience i wont forget. Althletes do seem to run the school but that doesnt mean they dont work hard in their acedemics. There are a few great teachers that really teach you the meaning of responsibility and show passion towards the students as well as for the rest they could care less. The band choir and football programs are really impressive. The spirit at this school is like nothing you've ever seen. Even though there is violence and a whole lot of different clicks when it comes down to it the pride of our school brings us together. My favorite sayings 'once a cardinal always a cardinal' and 'cardinal spirit never dies'!

As a currently enrolled student I have to say I really like this school compared to schools like Harlingen South. Most of the teachers here are really commited to passing their students but most I think are there for the money.A large chunk of the students here have problems with respect rules and some even with dignity. There seems to be fights graffiti and drugs everywhere and even the security helps in some of this but for the most part they have no control over students. If we were to exclude these people than the school would be a better place. As it is now though it is quite good.(for a school obsessed with football)

As a former student I can say only a few good things about this school. The band is amazing! The sports teams are great but they seem to run the school. The teachers for AP (advanced placement) classes were great and seemed to really care about the students. As far as the rest of the teachers it's a coin toss as to whether you get a good teacher or not. Some teachers were great but a sad majority didn t seem to care especially the coach/teachers. I laughed when I read the high rating for safety and discipline. It seemed like every week there was a gang fight and drugs were everywhere. The kids run all over the security guards and teachers. They have no respect for authority. Sometimes I was scared to go to school.

The level of Academis programs at HHS are great. The quality of teachers are excellent. I found the level of parent envolvement to be solely concentrated on sports like football and basketball. I would rate the teachers at this school as great.
