Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)

In 2013-2014 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard. In 2013 the Illinois State Board of Education raised the performance expectations for the ISAT in reading and math. These expectations have been adjusted to better align with the Common Core State Standards, a multi-state initiative that established year-by-year guidelines outlining the grade-specific skills and content students need to stay on the path to college and career readiness. The higher expectations of the new standards will result in a downward shift of where students rank in meeting or exceeding standards.

Both my kids hate it. Not a good school at all. Both were bullied for mostly no reason whatsoever. What's wrong with the people here!

We moved to this school last year. It has been a wonderful school for my son. He came in as a 7th grader and that is a really tough time to go to a new school. He was given a buddy and someone to eat lunch with for the remainder of the year. This is a great school district. The teachers challenge the kids and care about them. They are very good about keeping in contact with the parents. We could have chosen any school in the area but the idea of sending our son to a school with 4400 kids in High school was daunting. We chose a school with 2800 kids. I feel that he will be able to find his own way with less students while still enjoying the same amount of electives as he would have had at some of the "Big name" schools. We are really happy with our decision.

I am a former student. The staff and education is awesome. But the students.... If you want your child to go here they should either be popular or cool otherwise they're in for a tough ride. The people at south are way nicer and there is barely any popular problems. Be careful about which schools you choose the teachers aren't the only important thing it's also the students who go there.

Absolutely a great school. Outstanding teachers and high quality education and individual attention. Mrs. Baidatsky (Literature/LA) is the best teacher that our daughter had!!! We had great experience with all the teachers during the 3 years.

Fantastic school with fantastic academics and extra curricular activities. I moved districts for high school but found it easy thanks to the great education I recieved here. Facilities are top notch and school has basketball track and field cross country wrestling soccer teams and many more. Overall great school!

I'm completely satisfied with the program for gifted kids ! Just what I was looking for. Math teacher (Mr.Fontana) is absolutely talented as educator! As well -- Mr.Herlocker and Mr.Spoerlein 6th grade teachers ! Highly recommend !
