Poor teachers old ugly building nothing on classroom walls. athletes are catered to. If your parent went there are you have a certain last name you get more attention and better grades. food is despicable. there is no follow through with their zero tolerance policy as there are a lot of mean kids here and get away with it. are they all even from hawthorne? no-I know of several students who attend this school and use fake addresses. we know what is happening and ruining it for our kids and us because we actually pay taxes. pulled my child out in order to be on par with other high school students from other towns. I hear the high school is even worse.

If you have a child with Autism this is not the town for you. I moved her 5 years ago from Haledon thinking I was given my child a better education and I was proven wrong. For the amount of taxes you pay in this town you would think they would have it together. They don t have the means nor are the teachers well trained. The case worker is a piece of work and prefers to medicate then work with the child. I was ever direct with the principle and his reaction was that he was used to it. That is not something to brag about that that confirms that other people have complained & he isn t really concerned I m currently looking for a good lawyer not just for my son but for other children whom fallen between the cracks.

My child is a new student at LMS and she really loves it! I am happy about that. However I am not happy about the fact that they do not have enough of certain textbooks to hand out to each child? Also the class sizes are huge this year according to the open house I just attended. How can this happen in a town like Hawthorne?

There are great teachers and the kids are really good human beings!

Middle school has got to be the toughest age group to teach. The kids bodies and minds are going through enormous changes. The Administrators and Teachers at LMS know what they are faced with and conduct themselves professionally authoratatively and kindly. They must really really love kids to put up with so much. I commend all of the Lincoln Middle School faculity. They are great!

I am deeply disappointed in the middle school. We moved to Hawthorne back in 1999 because of the 'good' schooling. While we loved the elementary school we have unfortunately found that the middle school does not give students what they really need academically emotionally athletically or nutritionally. We are now moving because of this. My child is accelerated in several subjects and the Network program does not give enough to the needs of these children. In general I have found that the teachers do favor certain students. My child is not a 'trouble-maker' and should be treated with the same regard as any other student. I did not raise a 'brown-noser'. I raised my child to be an individual not a teachers pet. As far as the administrative staff go I have nothing nice to say. The lack of bussing is ridiculous! It takes 20 minutes to drive my child!
