There is always room for improvement on any campus in this nation regardless of whether it is private or public. For a sizeable campus housing both a middle and high school the staff does work hard. Students teachers and schools need parental support to be successful. Parents can and should avail themselves to make a difference. They owe it to their kids.

My son is a gifted student with an I.Q. of 150. Unfortunately that makes him a target for bullies. However I am happy to report that the staff at Hercules Middle School promptly responded to my complaint. The problem was resolved within days of me filing the report. Overall I am pretty happy with the school. Unfortunately there are a lot of students who attend but actually live in other districts. They bring the same mindset they claim to be attempting to leave behind. I would like the school to do a better job of determining which students actually live within the district.

The Hercules Middle School is the most unsafe and unfriendly environment for the students. My son has been bullied several times on the bus and in school. The Hercules Middle School adminstration teachers are struggling to resolve the incident. Instead they targeted my poor son with fabricated issues to look my son real bad kid. The teachers acted unprofessional during the meeting. The two teachers were deciding among themselves to give my son a failling grade. I thank God I documented with paper trail the entire incident.

My nephew and niece both attended this school and it was awful. Some of the staff were rude and did not care. Some of the teachers and Counselors were not helpful at all. Instead of figuring a way to help the student at where the weakness in the learning process is coming from the teachers fail the students to make it easier on them. this is so sad but true. Some teachers use email as a way of communicating but that doesn't even work. Just hope that when your child is failing you are notified early on instead of when it is too late. However I do feel bad for the Teachers who are actually doing their job because the one's that are not are giving this school a bad reputation. I guess that's the reason why they have such a big turn over rate. This school just can not get their act together. I hope in the years to come it will be a better school for the younger generation.

The staff is Rude the adminstration refuses to achknowledge or accept any responsibilty. When a Student fails the teachers only notice the gifted and disruptive children. Good kids who are struggling get left by the wayside. one student counsleor in my opinion is there for a paycheck and he just retire early and let a person in there that wants to help children succeed. This school needs staff overhaul from top to bottom. Where are the people that want to see our future secure with a more sussessful class of people . This school needs to picketed

This is an okay school and it is organized. They have so many students and with everyone moving out here from the city it is overcrowded. I believe the staff is working hard for your kids. Unless you do private this school is as good as you are as a parent supporting your child while attending this school. Schools need our support in order to succeed.

8/24/2010 - Today is the 1st day of school at Hercules. There was a line about 3 blocks long of students to get IDs classes registrations etc. I cannot imagine why they combined the line with high school middle school and elementary! Most of the students have missed at least 3 of their classes just being in line. I spoke to one parent (who is in line-frustrated) where her child is not even listed on this school and her child had previously attended this school! This confirmed to me that this school is very disorganized. My daughter attended this school only for 1 mo. and transferred her back to her old school. This the last year of my child to this school. And the traffic is incredibly frustrating!

Unfortunately the service of this school is bad from the top to the bottom very rude unorganized and unaccommodating even to good students. I have encountered 9 out of 10 people working their from the highest level down to the low and everyone is simply rude and unreasonable. Sad for the kids to see this kind of people surrounding them.

This school may have fights but it is a verry good school.

This is a great school. There is some fights but those are just stupid kids. Im a nerd if u stay away from ghetto kids you'll be alright.

This school is one of the most unsafe schools in Hercules. There are fights all the time class rooms are over crowded and summer school is even worst. If you want your child to get a good education send them to a private school or to another school district.

My son is attending Hercules Middle School for the first time as a 7th grader. So far so good according to my son. So I ask him everyday after school and he updates me with stories of good teachers and welcoming students. The administration needs to be a little bit more organized. When I think back about being in line for 4 1/2 hours during registration it was a complete chaos. I felt that there was no regard to working parents whose time has to be wasted that way. Registration for returning students could have been done via mail or online to avoid the big crowd at registration. Some students were reserving spots in the line for others which was disrespectful to others who have stood in line for more than 3 hours. Then another line once inside for yet another hour. It could be done better!

im am an 8th grader who attends hercules middle and this school has many exellent teachers who has students learn the material. after school activities are very fun especially if you like choir and dance.

Being the parent of a 6th grader who has moved from the much coveted Lamorinda school district both my daughter and I found this school to be a breath of fresh air with dedicated teachers who are more approachable and non discriminative. The administration has had a healthy turn around since Mr. Zak took the helm (thank goodness). If they have advanced classes for students who want to be advanced students and put the regular students in regular classes scores should be improving in the coming years. Next thing to check is the residence of students - some move out right after registering in the school just for enrollment sake. This school district should implement what they do in the 'coveted' ones do random checks on addresses at times.

I am a student at the Hercules Middle School and I am now going to grade 7. This school is by far the worst school I have ever gone to. While sitting in class none of the kids can learn anything with other kids yelling.

Administration needs to be more organized in order for this school to be sucessfull. Not the best in communicating with parents.
