Pinewoods Montessori is a wonderfully rich nurturing environement for children. The teachers provide individualized attention in all programs and the children are taught not only academics but kindness and respect for self others and the world. I currently have pre-school and elementary children and Pinewoods and plan to keep them there as long as possible- it really is that good!!

This school is great. Our daughter is becoming incredibly well rounded bright polite and respectful. She loves going to school at Pinewoods and the Montessori way allows all kids to flourish with high expectations but low pressure. There are a lot of negative reviews dating back to 2008 related to one individual previously at the school. As a result the community rating is knocked down to 3 stars but this is a 5 star school and truly the 'it' school in Hillsborough right now. There is a great sense of community amongst the students parents and teachers and we feel blessed to be a part of it. Highly recommend!

Pinewoods Montessori provides an AMAZING experience for each child! The teachers are excellent and they really care about the education and development of the children. The individual approach and caring environment give every child the chance to blossom. My children - preschool and elementary age- are thriving in this school. They are thriving not only academically but socially and emotionally as well.

Love Love Love this school! Such dedication from the teachers...they truly CARE about the progress of you child...both academically and emotionally. Great communication about your child's progress wonderfully safe and cozy environment and excellent teachers all around. I am constantly amazed at what my children are learning and how excited they are to go to each every day.

I can't say enough great things about Pinewoods. Our children have been there for 3 years and 1 year and have absolutely thrived. Don't be turned off by some of the bad reviews from a few years ago - there was a lot of drama but that chapter is long since over. Your owe it to your child to take a look at this school - the teachers are fantastic and caring the environment is extremely supportive and nurturing the board is attentive and committed to the long term success of the school the parents are involved. Our kids have gained confidence and learned a tremendous amount in their time there. And on top of everything else the school is a tremendous value for a true Montessori education. We could not be happier with our experiences at Pinewoods.

We love this school! Our two children have thrived in this peaceful loving environment. The teachers and staff provide guidance to allow our children to achieve their potential! We recommend it for anyone looking for a preschool! This school also offers an elementary program which we are looking forward to in the next few years.

I cannot say enough great things about this school. The quality of the teaching is excellent and both my children are thriving and happy in this environment. It is a wonderful community of families with many opportunities to become involved. The school is lead by a very committed HOS and parent-led board.

My child has been with Pinewoods for 3 years. I kept her there believing that eventually the person (teacher) causing the school so much grief would eventually leave. She has. Since then I have seen the remaining teachers the HOS the school board and the parent population really embrace the spirit of Montessori. I and my child look forward to the new school year. I love the HOS I love the teachers and their assitants and I greatly respect the school board.

Pinewoods has gone through a lot of changes lately but it has remained an excellent school. The school is now run by a dedicated board of parents and teachers. The individual who caused parents to have negative feelings about the school is gone and only dedicated drama-free teachers remain. My children wouldn't be there if I didn't believe in this school.

This is an excellent school with a terrific new leader and board of directors.

Pinewoods is an amazing school. In fact our teachers and administration care so much about our kids that when toxic mold was found in our rented space that the landlord refused to fix the school was moved to a new building to protect the health of our kids. A very few families who never attended the numerous meetings which were held for us regarding this issue did not get accurate information and did leave prematurely. Our school is full. The children are happy healthy and continuing to enjoy all of the benefits of this uniquely wonderful school. As a very pleased parent I recommend that you schedule a visit and see for yourself what Montessori is supposed to be all about. This is one fantastic school.

Nearly 20% of the enrolled families left the school from last year due to the negative issues and situations they experienced. There is little encouragement (and occasional discouragement) for the parents to meet and associate and discuss their experiences with the school. Parents raising concerns are met with a consistently defensive and negative response.

I have been very disappointed with Pinewoods the culture is very negative and there is no community spirit. Parents have not been encouraged into the classrooms despite volunteering. End of year testing on elementary children was promised and not preformed there have been 3 locations in the last 9 months which has caused undue stress on parents and children.

With any organization conflicting views and experiences occur. Trust your gut. I did and it's paid off with Pinewoods. Inclusive caring and thorough the school has had its share of trouble with locations. But the children are always put first and it's had to ask more than that.

Pinewoods is an excellent school. The overly negative reviews are from a small group of disgruntled parents who would most likely find something wrong with any school. The Pinewoods' staff is very open to having people come and observe so parents should visit and judge for themselves. I have two children at Pinewoods and I have been very pleased with their education. I taught in public schools for a number of years and I decided to enroll my children in this excellent Montessori school because I believe in the program and the teachers (most of whom have been there for over 10 years).

We have had on eyear at Pinewoods and my daughter loves it. She is challenged never bored learning respect and patience. I found the (now ex) head of school to be dedicated to the child's developement. I also have witnessed the discipline and totally agree with how it is carried out. My only complaint is gossipy parents who seem to wish they were the ones running the school. My daughter has learned reading/writing/math in her first 6 months there.

Very inconsistent enviroment! High rotation of children teacher head of school and even ....location. They recently had to shorten the scholl year because they coudn't find a location for classes(tehey still don't know where the clases will be held in August) ....if you like surpirses OK. but if you are loooking for stability look elsewhere.

I had a terrible expirience in this school. My dauhgter's teacher never made an effort to teach her anything. The head of the school/teacher is a very rude and difficult person to deal with.

If you are looking for a peacefull pre-school for your child look elsewhere. This is a very stressfull and tense enviroment. Just reading the reviews below you can tell.

Pinewods is a wonderful school. This is our third Montessori school and I believe we finally found a school that truely believes in the Montessori method. Our other two schools concentrated on making the parents happy amost to the point of caving in to their every whim and request at the expense of the child's education. Here the Montessori method is what stressed and followed. The Directoress believes all children can and will learn. She is friendly and very loving towards the children. Contrary to other reviews we have been in to visit and observe many times. The teachers send home weekly reports describing what the children have completed. The PTO is also very supportive and helpful. As our child is now in pre-primary we will definitely be staying for the full elementary experience.
