This is a school for the over acheiving student. Special Education is a joke; The district gets rid of most special education kids for 1-2 years and that gets them off of the hook.

Hmm so I'm a student and here's what I have to say --there's not many windows. almost all classrooms don't have a window. you can go throughout the entire school day without even getting a look out the window. --no natural lighting everything is artificial and the lights can get annoying without natural lighting --immature kids --air conditioned all day. so cold. wear a hoodie everyday is my recommendation. --english is the hardest all the teachers are hard at least for honors --honors classes are hard except for honors world cultures this class is a blow off class haha! --great variety of class options --long school days --i hate that i don't get to experience anything to do with the outside outdoors... once you walk in the doors say goodbye to the outdoors until the end of the day ) --teachers are okay some are supportive and some are deffinately not --art classes are awesome --lockers are an ugly color most people have locker buddies --the whole school is ugly and dreary colors inside my rating 3/5 for sure... almost a 2

This school is o.k. My experience has been the punishment to students that have done something small is way too punitive. Some kids are expelled so much they miss half of the school year. The academics move excessively fast; only the better students can keep up. Special Education in this school district is a huge waste of time. It is better to either move or do not even bother to put your child in special education here.

Great school I am a Former student of the intermediate high It is my favorite out of all 3 of the butler schools. The building it self is very nicely designed and built with numerous skylights Providing a good bit of natural daylight in the Library and throughout the various staircases. The Building is fully air conditioned unlike the Junior and Senior high. The rooms have good lighting. Nice wide hallways in the main areas (not the departments) They went through a renovation a few years ago. Teachers and are great. I highly recommend this school

Butler Intermediate High School is a very nice school. It is going through some remodelling as of September of 2005 but will be finished shortly. The academic program is fantastic and the teachers are kind and knowledgable. This school has a great elective-subject selection I took the Japanese I and II in this school and absolutely loved it.

After dealing with the Butler Junior High Intermediate and Senior High. My opinion of the special education dept is low. This is opinion is based on how they conduct their IEP for students with metal or behavior disabilities. They seem to think all kids are alike and needs are the same instead of coming up with solutions they send them to alternative schools for 'really' disturbed delinquents. Kids need help not shoved from one place to another. Butler School Special Education Director is trained good and has all the alternative schools and the addresses memorized for you. Please take my advise and seek a FREE advocate to help you and your choices before you ever make or sign papers from this school.

With the number of students in this school the education that the students receive is superior. The principals and teachers do a tremendous job to maintain an effective school environment.
