The house was originally built in 1918 but in 1992 it was totally gutted and renovated. The address changed to Climax from Pennsylvania with a change to the front door location. The house offers a 2 car garage and drive-way parking for 3. An aging but still effective wooden white picket fence, a covered patio/porch and a second uncovered deck.
The insides are in great shape with hardwood stairs and upstairs floors, carpetted 3 bedrooms (all upstairs) with a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The upstairs bath is large with a jetted tub and there is also a small porch off the second floor that has a pully to move items in and out of the house.
The main floor has a long (10x20) living room, which is very cozy with a flat panel TV onthe wall. The dining room and kitchen are situated on the oposing side of the house with an OTR microwave, ceramic (flat) stove/oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal and fridge.
I partially finished the basement with linolium, carpet and paint. There is still one rough corner which is used for storage. The linolium is in the laundry area and the carpetting is in a guest bed/entertainment room.…
What I love
-There is a TON of space for a modestly sized house. -LOTS of grounded power plugs, cable outlets, etc. -Double hung windows throughout which are easy to maintain and very effecient. -A perfect storage attic that is potentially finishable. -CONVENIENCE! 3 Minutes (2 miles) to the MSU, 5 (~2 miles) to downtown lansing and Cooley, 5 (7 miles) to the West side stores. -Potter Park is only a 1/2 mile away and short walk away with the wonderful Riverwalk Trail perfect for working out and relaxing(I run and bike on it many nights). -Though on Pennsylvania, with extra insulation on that side of the house you barely notice the traffic.Neighborhood Description
Most homes on Climax and in the area are family homes with children. There are some neighbors who have lived in the same homes for 40+ years and there are also a few that have been just moving in and renovating some of the older homes. There is an active neighborhood watch/foundation that has regular meetings. There is a retired elementary school about 3 blocks away with a maintained playground where kids regularily play. There is a lot of foot and bicycle traffic.More Less
