Custom built in 1972 featuring a hand-crafted stone fireplace and one full bath, this eclectic property uses some truly unique pieces of Santa Barbara incorporated into its meticulous construction. (The City of Santa Barbara currently only recognizes this as an accessory structure). There is also a separate structure which could possibly be used as an art studio, office or wine grotto. With a 1 inch commercial water meter and utilities at the site, this property could be used in its current configuration or perhaps expanded. Included are plans for an Southwest-style Adobe addition which are now expired and would need to be resubmitted to the City for current permits and approvals. 

What I love about the home

The home won an award for being "green" before green was fashionable. Many features were salvaged from the Morton Salt Estate. Detached laundry and work shop. Gas supply for the original potter's kiln is still working. Preapproved plans by Mike Gones for a large addition. It's a wonderful, romantic cottage amongst Tea Fire rebuilt multimillion dollar homes. Very unique!!! It is within one half mile of Westmont College; two miles to the San Ysidro Ranch; one mile to Cold Spring Canyon; five minutes to downtown Montecito or Santa Barbara.
