What I love
The front porch is amazing. Makes a fabulous dining room/family room in the summer. The kitchen was remodeled two years ago. We had a local craftsman build the cabinets of old growth fir which used to be high school bleachers. It's gorgeous and sustainable with many cool built-ins and soft-close hardware. The backsplash tiles are from Pratt & Larson. Farmhouse sink. Butcher block/stainless island table with bar seats allows guests to participate.Neighborhood Description
This section of Humboldt neighborhood is in a registered historic district, a beautiful old residential area with tons of mature trees lining the streets and stunning turn of the century houses. Peninsula Park is three blocks away, one of the best Portland parks with huge rose garden, children's play and water areas, sports field, community center with classes, pool, etc. Historic North Portland library is about five blocks away, across the street from McMenamin's Little Chapel Pub. Hipster bars and coffee shops abound. Portland Community College campus is about five blocks away. There is a New Seasons Market less than a mile away and a Safeway even closer. Great neighborhood for biking or walking (walk score is 73). Buses run one block away every 15 minutes. Close in--it takes ten minutes to drive downtown or to NW. Ample parking on the street all the time (which means you can use the garage as a shop or for bikes, strollers, etc.). Very close to Mississippi Arts District, Alberta Arts District and the trendy Vancouver/Williams Corridor.More Less
