My Notes

This is an amazing estate home on an 11 acre site with a park-like setting. The home was constructed in 1940. It is an eclectic colonial revival styled home which was a popular design in the northeast united states from 1880 through 1955. The present owners have remodeled parts of the home without interrupting the essence and flow. They have also added a new kitchen area that is better described in the home photo gallery. The real (not veneer) stone exterior and shingle roof add to the majestic character of the home. The interior has rich traditional trim accents, dutch doors, deep window sills and stained glass windows in just the right places. The great room has open beam ceilings, full stone fireplace and plenty built-in bookshelves. The master suite features a sitting/ready room, closet array and updated bath (see photos). There are more bedrooms and baths on both the second and third floors. What makes this home truly a step above is the location. It is adjacent to Shillington, PA which is along side Wyomissing, PA and just 3.7 miles or 10 minutes from the Reading Hospital. I live in Berks County for 50 years and never knew the home or property existed which says a lot about the privacy of this home. Having 11+ acres that is close to everything cannot and should not be overlooked when considering this property. This is a true period stone colonial home rich in features of the time it was constructed. The true colonial purist will instantly recognize the value inherent. The owners have requested no drive-by's please. Thank you and enjoy the great home photos.  More Less

Market guide

Zillow predicts 19607 home values will increase 2.1% next year, compared to a 2.1% increase for Cumru Township as a whole. Among 19607 homes, this home is 583.1% more expensive than the midpoint (median) home, and is priced 100% more per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In 19607, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 40.6% higher than in Cumru Township, and 18% lower than the national average. This higher local number may prevent 19607 home values from rising as quickly as other regions in Cumru Township.
