My Notes

European styling, Old World craftsmanship, and all the modern conveniences you demand-- and in a prime location just above Washington Square off Lower Fifth Avenue. This finely fitted apartment exudes elegance with classic architectural and interior elements-- top quality fixtures, genius use of space (STORAGE! STORAGE! STORAGE!), and a level of comfort and convenience not found in comparable units in the area and elsewhere. Highlights include: * A bibliotheque-inspired dining / library alcove with ample bookshelves, adjustable shelves, cabinets, recessed picture ledge, and a false books-faced hidden closet * Separate eat-in windowed kitchen with granite counter top and custom built-in refrigerator, Instant-Hot, garbage disposal, and more * Strategically designed built-in cabinets with paneled doors; abundant hidden storage! * Gorgeously appointed bathroom with marble sink top, etched-glass shower niche, hidden in-wall storage compartments, and much more... * Huge walk-in closet with adjustable rods and shelving * High-end lighting, kitchen, bath, and decorative fixtures * Crown moldings and decorative trims; solid wood doors; heavy brass hardware.
No. 12 West 9th Street is a building that in 1851 was originally the home of Henry Jarvis Raymond, the founder of the New York Times. Reconfigured in 1950 as a small apartment house with only 23 units, it has been recently undergone renovation/redecoration and extensive improvements including: all new electrical wiring throughout the building and ALL units; new elevator system and cab design; intercom/entry system; renovation of public spaces with period mid-century styling, fixtures, and artwork. Laundry facilities on premises. Come have a look. You're sure to fall in love. ~ For the extensive property portfolio which include many more photos, details, offering, etc., please visit: www.w9thstudio.com
Neighborhood Description
One of the most sought-after neighborhoods in New York City, this particular 8-block enclave known as the "Gold Coast" of Greenwich Village, is home to a bevy of celebrity artists, musicians, actors, filmmakers, and writers.
Quiet tree-lined streets house some of the most beautiful town houses and pre-war buildings.
Fantastic location within a few blocks of nearly every subway line in the MTA system. Whole Foods, Citarella, Trader Joe's and more within a few minutes walking. The best restaurants, comedy and jazz clubs, chic bars, and movie houses in the city are all right around the corner. This is the quintessential New York City living experience everyone wants. Make it yours!

What I love about the home

Location. This is actually a "condop"-- a hybrid of a co-op and a condominium. (Great for YOU and your taxes!). Plus, LOW MONTH MAINTENANCE! Compare to all the surrounding studios! Location. The building has HISTORY! And it looks great, too. Public spaces renovated in 2003 (and again in 2013), all new expanded electrical in building and units 2003, new elevator in 2007, new roof in 2010. No foreseeable assessments. Nothing left to fix or repair. Even the boiler is new as of around 2000. Location. A must-see! Oh, and did I mention the location?
