Live in complete privacy on a park-like 2.57 acres where you don't see any neighbors and you have a stream passing serenely through the center of your property, across which you see a canopy of old-growth oak trees. Many people have commented that this is the most magical house they have ever seen. This idyllic and contemporary California Transitional home designed by renown architect Roger Kohler sold for $6.4 million in 2000 and was then fully-remodeled in 2008 with the highest quality finishings. The house was finished with Brazilian teak (Cubaru) flooring of 5-inch planks, throughout. The house is fully modernized with granite & marble stonework, high-end lighting fixtures, and top appliances. The house has an amazing flow which is great for entertaining and for family. The house has numerous windows that look out on a serene and idyllic property with a large lawn, deer, and beautifully-maintained native landscaping. The home itself features five bedrooms including a spacious master suite with a separate deck, a sitting room, a large walk-in closet, a soaking tub and large stone-lined shower, and windows overlooking the stream, birch trees outside the window, and canopy of oaks across the stream.
Neighborhood Description
Portola Valley is a beautiful community with two tennis clubs (Alpine Hills and Ladera) nearby and a charming shopping center with restaurants. The town is upscale but relaxed and not pretentious. The desirable Westridge community has more feet of horse trails than roads, and there are plentiful hiking trails in the local area.
 

What I love about the home

This is one of the most beautiful and unique properties in Portola Valley. You cannot see any neighbors from the house which sits on 2.57 acres and has a stream running through the middle of the yard. The house has a private tennis court and a large, long lawn, with numerous large old-growth oak trees as well as willows.
