This neighborhood is awesome! This is the third house we have bought in the Mordecai Neighborhood in the last 13 years. It is close enough to walk or bike anywhere downtown and the free bus system is great as well. Raleigh has become a cultural diverse small city with big city art galleries, colleges and universities, eateries and architecture. 3 blocks to William Peace University. This neighborhood is the gateway to all that Raleigh offers. The low HOA fees take care of all yard maintenance and sprinkler system costs. It is like being retired. I never knew how much time I spent on landscaping until we moved here and no longer had to do it. The patio still gives us an opportunity to explore our gardening interests. We have remodeled older homes prior to moving here, and now appreciate living in a home that is warm in the winter time and cool in the summer all while doing it efficiently. We really appreciate that windows open and everything works flawlessly as expected, while still maintaining the older historic neighborhood charm. The local schools and parks are the best North Carolina has to offer.More Less
