Take a deep breath as you pull off of the paved road & into paradise! This is an amazing deepwater estate on the Wando River, made even more special by its mere 20 minute proximity to downtown Charleston, the Isle Of Palms, and Sullivan's Island. It is hard to find a place to begin when describing this property. The main house is a beautifully updated home. The finest of fixtures & hardware were selected when the owners remodeled the home in 2002. It was important to them to preserve the "country cottage" ambiance, while at the same time integrating some of today's modern niceties. Wide-plank antique Pine floors, beamed ceilings, real-brick masonry fireplaces(gas logs in the kitchen & wood burning in the living room), all give the home a classic & instantly cozy feel. The eat-in kitchen comes equipped with a gas 4-burner cook top, stainless-steel refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, ice machine, built-in wine cooler, and even a Miele coffee machine! The master suite is conveniently located on the 1st floor, and has a bathroom that is to die for. Choose between the fully tiled walk-in shower, or the air-jetted garden tub where you can relax and take in the natural vistas. Up the stairs(made of reclaimed antique beams)you'll find a very nice media/playroom. Skylights & windows galore allow natural light to wash the tongue & groove wood walls & ceilings. You'll find plenty of built-in shelving to house your books, pictures, &/or kids toys. Each of the 3 nicely sized upstairs bedrooms have walk-in closets, and one of these bedrooms has it's own private bath. The brick-floored screen porch is both deep & wide, and was smartly positioned to take advantage of the fantastic Wando River breezes and also provides panoramic views of the grounds. The amazing pool is the one you've always wanted to build...stone decking, "zero entry", a beautiful rock waterfall...all surrounded by professional landscaping. Are horses your thing? The front of the property features a 4 stall barn with separate feed & tack rooms, a turn-out area & 2 newly fenced pastures. Next to the main house, and between the pool & the river, lies the brackish water bass & brim pond...adding to the tranquil setting. Spring is a particularly spectacular time around the pond as the Crepe Myrtles, Azaleas, Dogwoods, & Carolina Jasmine come into full bloom. As you make your way past the pond, feeling the pull of the saltwater, you will find the creekside fire pit...an absolutely idyllic spot for a lowcountry boil or oyster roast.
