What I love
We love the garden, the easy access to outdoor living, the lawn and sense of privacy during the 'green' months. We love the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, with four kids this made for comfortable living. We love the eat-in kitchen with the small island for food prep where the kids can sit and chat while I make dinner. We love the oversized garage because with a conversion van and full sized station wagon it's exactly what we needed, and the bonus floored attic space with the pull down ladder, means that we have easy access to anything we put in storage. We also love being close to the cities without having to actually live in the city, and the fact that Waconia now has its own Target store means a whole lot of convenience! We also love the Waconia Farm and Feed store, the in town movie theater and antique stores, and lets not forget the lake! If you prefer to swim indoors, the new community center has a huge pool. We like our location on Parkside, because we are literally across from Brooke Peterson Park with all it's softball fields, indoor hockey rink and outdoor rink, the skate park and playground. Not to mention, that the middle school and high school are both within walking distance, which means all the home soccer & baseball games will be right near the house. We're also within walking distance to a Super America station with it's little store, so we can send the kids down there to grab milk or hamburger buns in a pinch! The grocery store is a one street light away and so are a Ford, Dodge/Chrysler & GMC dealership, which means you can drop your car off for an oil change, and bike home. I should also mention that it's very comforting to us to have a local hospital right here in town, Ridgeview Medical Center, you should check out their website, and Lakeview clinic.
Neighborhood Description
Provence Creek hosts a variety of family sizes and ages. While there are plenty of young families, there are also those with kids in middle and high school and even a few retirees. We tend to look out for each others errand dogs, and sometimes stray kids :-) . There are no through streets, so we don't get a lot of traffic coming and going, and there are evenings of sitting around bonfires and toasting the weekend. We tend to let our neighbors know when we go on vacation, and ask them to get our mail and watch our dog while we're away. During the winter, those with tractor snow blowers are always kind enough to help out after the plow goes through and dumps 1000 pounds of snow at the end of your driveway! :0) If you like to hunt and fish, you might not be alone in Provence Creek, and if you're idea of winter fun is driving the sled into town this could be the place for you. Better yet, if you happen to own an ice house and enjoy ice fishing, you could make Lake Waconia your home for the winter.
