I love it when the lights change at dusk...a completely different house. It always has this magical quality with the different interplay of shadow and light on the walls. And with all the many lights and dimmers we feel we are in a movie set that we can change at will.
Whenever I go to the Getty Museum in LA I feel at home because our architects, Batter Kay, were students of Richard Meier (the architect of the Getty). There are so many qualities and physical similarities to the Getty, but of course we are neither as large nor have the same art collection.
Bauhaus architecture had always been our dream. And this house is that. Inside and Out.
It has such clean lines.
The home has a zen feeling...not only because of the design of some of the inside space...but also when we look toward the ocean and divine white water views. Equally magnificent is the feeling of Sedona in our backyard (and it can never be built on because it is the Torrey Pines preserve.)
