What I love

We are on a quite back street and are just a short 7 minute walk to the school. We are pretty much centrally located to all of the villages convienences. We have a beautiful, large backyard. Our frontyard and backyard is very well shaded.

Neighborhood Description

Richmondville is a very community oriented village. During the summer the village pool is free to its community members. There is a beautiful, new playground next to the school and pool. There are also many events for the children to partake in during summer, including swimming lessons, Little League, summer soccer, arts and crafts, as well as some other events. This is a small community with many nice qualities. Our local elementary school, Joseph B. Radez Building, is excellent. They do morning program, which helps give each child a chance to shine in the spotlight, as well as prepare for public speaking. There are many programs, events put on to keep the young ones busy. Mr. Dineen, our current principal, is the greatest. He is wonderful with the kids and knows how to talk to them on their level, as well as get them to do as needed. Another huge plus for our community is that we own our own power company. We end up having lower rates than most of the people in our county/state. Many people move to this community for this reason. We have a post office, bank, gas station offering small array of grocery items, small-town diner, fire house, ambulance squad, pizza store and ice cream parlor. Overall, this village has a little bit of everything without the overwhelming feeling of our larger towns/cities.
