My Notes

Edit
You've got to check out this beautiful and newly renovated house on Capitol Hill, just one block from Lincoln Park. The house is three stories -- two up and one down -- with four bedrooms, three and half baths, and two fireplaces. The basement can be part of the house, or used as a separate rental. (It has a certificate of occupancy!)Upstairs sports a huge modern kitchen with granite countertops, cherry cabinets and stainless appliances and more. High ceilings, wood floors, tall (and new) wood-framed windows give the house grandeur. On the top floor, four skylights let in tons of light. A new washer/dryer make laundry a breeze. The basement unit, with one bedroom and one full bathroom, has a new galley kitchen with granite countertops and a washer/dryer. The unit is accessible from the inside and has its own entrance. Market guide

Zillow predicts Capitol Hill home values will rise 0.4% next year, compared to a 1.6% rise for Washington as a whole. Among Capitol Hill homes, this home is valued 60.7% more than the midpoint (median) home, but is valued 18.4% less per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Capitol Hill, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 62.8% lower than in Washington, and 69.5% less than the national average. This lower local number could help Capitol Hill home values rise more quickly than other regions in Washington.
