My Notes

Edit
This building is an historic structure built originally as a Methodist church in 1849. The building has a beautiful stone foundation with original doors and double hung windows. The widow sash have their original "wavy" glass panes (each window has 60 glass panes). The siding is full thickness old growth clear pine and is in great shape (in need of paint). The building frame is a massive chestnut post and beam design with an original (church) open clear space with high ceiling. Later additions were constructed using "balloon framing." The land is a flat corner lot backed by a beautiful little stream and distant mountain view sunsets. Permitted use of the property allows both commercial and residential occupation.

What I love about the home

The property has a beautiful and historic flavor. The building has undergone careful and extensive renovations respectful of it's history and integrity as a historic landmark. Since my purchase in 1995, the main section that was the original church has been gutted (the chestnut frame was undisturbed and photo documented), insulated and dry-walled. A new 400 amp electrical service was added as well as a new boiler and cast iron radiator heating system (Viessmann boiler). A propane hot air unit was also installed in the main room (shop space) before the installation of the new boiler.
