My Notes

This cozy renovated Victorian cottage is an AMAZING find in old town Colfax, a beautiful painted lady over 100 years old, still lovingly cared for today! This home's wonderful craftsmanship sets it apart from others, a true gem. Unlike many Victorians, this one has been recently renovated inside and out, with none of the "issues" often associated with historic properties. And just as importantly, Colfax is a great place to live, outside the noise and hassle of larger towns, but close enough to the big box stores and other services of more urban areas like Auburn and Roseville. This house is an easy 5 minutes' walk from Old Town.

What I love about the home

"Above the fog and below the snow!" The quality of life in Colfax cannot be praised enough, being as close to Mayberry as you can get these days. Easy walking distance to the library, post office, and Old Town Colfax, just a couple blocks away, is a benefit of owning this home. It is also a gateway town to the Sierra Nevada mountains, with lakes, rivers, scenic viewpoints, lush meadows, and intriguing Gold Rush and Native American sites close by. The home itself has been well-maintained, with original redwood siding, brick and concrete patios with beautiful gardens, hardwood floors throughout, window flower boxes, a large storage shed, fenced yard, French doors, insulated window shades and dual-pane windows for maximum heating/cooling efficiency, comp. roof, and a new, etched-glass front door, are some of the nicer features of this home. This home must be seen in person to fully appreciate what a great residence it could be for you!
