What I love

Open all the windows in spring and summer with privacy and fresh breeze or a cozy fire in the evenings to relax and warm the home during winter. Bald Eagles and all sorts of natural wildlife (no raccoons!) bring entertainment year around to us. Low traffic, spacious lots yet easy to know your neighbors without being on a zero lot. Most everything is within walking distance. Just minutes to downtown Woodinville or Bellevue yet so very private once we pull in the driveway. Trips to downtown Seattle are easy and quick. This is a micro-climate zone so we get less rain and warmer temperatures year around. The soil is rich, we've found arrowheads while gardening! Anything grows here including food and herb gardens with abundant flowering year around. Summers are great - hot air balloons overhead, boating on the lake, BBQ's, cycling or walks to the wildlife refuge or Bassetti Gardens is really enjoyable. We love to work outside or take a quick walk to the lake for relaxing and cooling off. Winter is cozy and sheltered from old growth trees yet don't keep us from getting plenty of light all year. Friends come over any time of year visiting, its just that kind of place great for entertaining both inside and outside. People here are unpretentious. We all love nature, gardening and pets but don't have to live 5 feet from someone else to get to work or run errands. It's very relaxed and easy going, you know who lives around you with visits during the day to stop and enjoy their company or share the latest gardening, landscaping and outdoor tips. Great area to raise a family without having to live in a gated or fenced community - plenty of room and activities for the kids with yards in front and back and always a neighbor keeping track just because its that kind of area. Neighborhood Description

Very quiet, typical established middle income area. Exceptionally low crime (if any), no new building under one acre moratorium. Most homes have been updated in last 5 years. Open space between homes with natural privacy. Bassetti Crooked Arbor Gardens and Wildlife Preserve keep the area from being built up, can walk to both within minutes for an entire day of nature discovery. Unpretentious folks tend to gravitate here for the natural beauty, low crime and local attractions. Roads safe for bicycling, jogging, and quiet walks. Library, lake, schools, shopping all within walking distance. Commute North or South very easy access and time limiting compared to other areas.
