My Notes

Magnificent home built in the late 1800's listed in the Local Historic District. Enter the home from the newly renovated front porch into a double foyer and step back in time when homes were built to last. Original hardwood floors. Heavy wood molding. 12' ceilings throughout most of the home. 4 fireplaces, all working. (Family room, dining room and 2 of the bedrooms.) 3 1/2 baths. All new wiring. 5 ton enery star compliant HVAC only 1 year old. Family room, dining room and foyer with wainscoting. Kitchen with some original cabinets, dishwasher, gas stove, pantry and vintage 1932 tin ceiling and backsplash. Cozy breakfast area with tile floor overlooking backyard. Master bedroom has new carpet with upgraded padding. H/H walk-in closets. Big bathroom with double vanities, garden tub, separate water closet and separate shower. Large laundry room with half bath. Room off laundry room could be 4th bedroom or office. Don't miss the documentation of the 1996 Olympic Torch passing in front of this house.
The property is completely fenced in, with white picket fencing in the front, and chain link in the back. Enjoy local parades from the front porch. Every other year, feast on pecans from the 3 mature trees in the back, or sell them to the local pecan factory. There are also mature apple and fig trees on the property. Harlem is an old, quaint town known for being the birthplace of Oliver Hardy. This home is a must see!
