We were lied to about this home when we bought it. After the first flood of 8' of water, we learned that there were 6 previous fema claims on the home.
After the 2nd flood of 4'of water (2 years later), we had to move out. 2 weeks after moving out, the house flooded a 3rd time with 6'.
The county, HOA, insurance companies and mortgage companies have been fighting over resolving the issue for 10 years now at the owners expense in lawyer and engineering fees.

This house needs to be bulldozed and put out of it's misery.
Do not buy this house unless you enjoy spending 3 months out of the year living in a second home while you pull down and throw away thousands of pounds of drywall and insulation each year.
 

What I love about the home

I love how I have learned how little people care about homeowners rights. I love how I have learned to never trust a used car salesman...oops, I mean a real estate agent. I love how I have learned to pay attention to things when looking at a house, such as "How high are the outlets?" and "Why are the appliances in the attic?" I love how I stay awake at night when it rains heavy now, because I have developed a reflex to turn on sump-pumps at any/all hours of the night. I love how FEMA has paid more of the mortgage on this house than homeowners. I love watching my 3-month old child stop breathing because of mildew and have to take him to the hospital at 3 in the morning to get him breathing again
