The lower unit is a legal one bath / one bedroom English Basement. It is separately metered and features all new appliances, including washer & dryer, a new HVAC unit and hardwood floors. It has plenty of closet and storage space, a front and back door, and plenty of natural light. It is currently renting for $1,800 per month.
The upper three floors of the house is the main unit. This home has three oversized bedrooms, each with walk-in closets and private baths. The master suite encompasses the entire third floor and includes a separate living room with wood burning fireplace.
The second floor has two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The back bedroom also features a 200 square foot porch that overlooks the back yard.
The first floor of the house has a spacious dining room, living room and half bath. The chiefs features a Viking range, Sub-Zero refrigerator and honed granite counters. The kitchen is attached to a three season porch that looks out over a professionally landscaped backyard. The front and backyard have in-ground irrigation and lighting. The property also features a 2 car garage.
There is custom lighting throughout the house, plantation shutters, and an amazing covered front porch.
 

What I love about the home

What I love about this house, above and beyond the features that are described above, is the location of the home. Mount Pleasant is a hidden gem inside of Washington DC. Mount Pleasant is very small neighborhood that is largely wooded. It is bounded on two sides by Rock Creek Park. Rock Creek Park not only provides very easy / quick access for commuting both to MD or VA but also provides greenway access for running, cycling or simply walking. Mount Pleasant is a favorite neighborhood for young families. Not only because of the size of the homes, the fact that most homes have backyards and garages, but also because the National Zoo boarders the backside of Mount Pleasant. The National Zoo is literally two blocks from this home. Half a block from this home is the main commercial strip of Mount Pleasant. Here you can find everything that you would need. Nice restaurants, grocery stores, a pharmacy, bakery, hardware store, beauty parlors/barbershops, video rental store and dry cleaners. Two blocks further you will find the Columbia Heights Metro Line (Yellow & Green) and the new retail complex call DC USA. DC USA a 546,000 square-foot retail complex anchored by retailers Target, Best Buy, Marshalls and Bed Bath & Beyond. It also features the largest Washington Sports clubs in the area. This Washington Sports has an Olympic size swimming pool! DC USA also includes 390,000 square feet of underground parking and a number of bars and restaurants like Pho 14, The Heights, Acre 121, Chipotle, Five Guys and Thai Tanic.
