My Notes

Our inviting home is a solid, clean, updated single level house on a level lot within Campbell city limits.
There is a HUGE, mature cedar in the front yard and a large mature tree (of unidentified species!) in the back, a prolifically-producing navel orange tree, and well-established Bouganvillia, Japanese maple and other plants such as star jasmine, lavender, bunch grasses, etc.
The large trees provide wonderful shade and keep the house cool in the summer when many of the neighbors are sweating!
Neighborhood Description
This is a FANTASTIC neighborhood. It is located in the acclaimed Moreland school district, which includes Baker, Country Lane and Easterbrook Discovery School (a parent-participation model elementary), as well as a two-year-old charter school. Our house sits on a very quiet, very wide residential street. Our girls ride their bikes and scooters and play in the street with virtually no fear of traffic. But we are also only a 10-minute walk from the Westgate Mall, only three blocks from a Starbucks, very close to a neighborhood park and the West Valley branch of the San Jose Library and a post office and less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Campbell. There is also easy access to I-280, CA-85 and CA-17/I-880, and the San Jose International airport is less than 20 minutes away.
Last, but not least, the neighborhood Cabana Club is only three blocks away, and we practically live in the water in the summer! Although the pool is simple, our girls learned to swim there and loved being able to go every day, even more than once. (A membership for a household in this neighborhood costs approximately $450-500 for April through the beginning of October.)

What I love about the home

I love the hardwood floors in this house. They are the original ones with the lovely 1950s-style weave in the corners which gives real charm and character. We had them refinished in 2005 and they look and feel beautiful. I also LOVE the kitchen and dining area in this house. The floorplan dedicates a good deal of space to an open, light area with room enough for a large breakfast island and a proper table. We really appreciate not having to squash around a table in the kitchen or put our table in the living room. The redesigned original cabinets and crown molding give the kitchen a lovely cottage feel. Also, in 2007 we had the kitchen/dining room flooring replaced with a very high quality, textured, dark brick vinyl and new underlayment. Especially if you have children, you will appreciate how incredibly easy it is to keep this area looking nice and how long this flooring will last. The design of the flooring also adds to the cottage feel and ties the whole house together with the exterior, which we recently had restored and painted in a rich red. We also really appreciate the fact that this house was remodeled to make one of the bathrooms en suite (and re-piped with copper throughout). The master bathroom floor is tiled in a simple greyish color and the shower is tiled in white. The hall bathroom has a hardwood floor and the tub/shower is tiled in a greyish color. As an artist, I really appreciate the simplicity and harmony of design of this home. It is peaceful and restful, functional and aesthetically pleasing. Actually, we would be very sorry to sell. However, with three little children and one or two more in mind we are quickly outgrowing this house. Thus, the invitation for you to make us an offer?!
