Neighborhood Description
This is the most wonderful neighborhood we have ever lived in! We specifically targeted this area when we moved back to the US from Canada (Vancouver) where we spent 2 years for my wife's research. We had lived in Woodinville for 15+ years before moving to Vancouver, but we spent most of our weekends over here in Seattle. We learned that Wallingford is one of the most desirable areas in Seattle and that it was where we were determined to live when we came back! We hoped to stay here a little longer but retirement is calling to us now. We absolutely LOVE our neighbors and our neighborhood. We are just 2 blocks away from the well-known Wallingford "Beetle," the first street painting in Seattle, which we help repaint each year along with lots of our neighbors. It is just one of the many community/neighborhood events that we have here each year! There are also the block parties, the famous Wurstfest at St. Benedict's (now in its 28th year), the Tilth Plant Sale, the neighborhood yard sale every year and the Wallingford Farmer's Market every Wednesday! We will always have a special place in our hearts for this area and will miss it very, very much.

Market guide

Zillow predicts Wallingford home values will rise 3.7% next year, compared to a 4.8% rise for Seattle as a whole. Among Wallingford homes, this home is valued 23.2% more than the midpoint (median) home, but is valued 21% less per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Wallingford, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 43.7% lower than in Seattle, and 57.5% less than the national average. This lower local number could help Wallingford home values rise more quickly than other regions in Seattle.
