What I love about the home

When we first saw the farm 52 years ago, it was Fall and the Maple leaves were bright red and yellow as we drove down the beautiful sunken lane splitting the property and ending with a majestic Buttonwood tree that faced a three-story "plastered stone" farmhouse. There were sheep and donkeys grazing in the pasture next to an old bank barn the other side of the parking area. It was everything my wife and I wanted and the first thing we added was a pretty red kennel building with seven chain link runs where she would raise Bichons and Dalmatians who would later win blue ribbons at Madison Square Garden and appear in Busch TV commercials. Meanwhile we built a Sylvan-style in-ground pool, renovated the kitchen and living room and two bathrooms and converted the fifth bedroom to a playroom (and later an office). We installed cozy baseboard hot water heat for the third floor where the kids grew up and went to Buckingham, Holicong and CB East and then to college. When they were grown, we renovated the barn, tore down the upper half and installed an attractive red steel roof with light panels and also installed a two-car and one-car garage doors opening into 2500 square feet of storage just begging for horses stalls.
