My Notes

Edit
Own your own Mountain! This property includes the entire mountain which has fantastic 360 degree views from the top. It is 20 miles from downtown Asheville and there is a half mile long road which winds around the mountain all the way to the top. Heavily forested, the site is located five miles from Mount Pisgah. It offers the opportunity to build multiple homes on the various ridges of the mountain, or to build a totally private retreat right on top. The base of the mountain stands at 3,000 feet and the top at just over 3,900 feet. The acreage is deceiving as the survey boundaries are at the base of the mountain all around. The calculated area assumes a flat surface. So, the mountain's footprint is 60 acres, but the surface area of the slopes is much more. The mountain is steep on two sides, much less so on two sides, and there is a large flat area on the summit. The surrounding mountains are all taller, shielding Quartz Mountain from weather extremes, and removing it from ridge top building restrictions. The land lies in three separate tracts, one of 40 acres, one of just over 11 and one of just over 10. The automatic info listed for the tract only refers to the 40 acre tract. The property includes a house and we will add pictures of the house at a later date.  More Less

        Market guide

Zillow predicts Candler home values will increase 1.6% next year, compared to a 1.9% increase for Asheville Metro as a whole. Among Candler homes, this home is valued 168.3% more than the midpoint (median) home, and is valued 98.5% more per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Candler, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 48.6% greater than in Asheville Metro, and 3.3% less than the national average. This higher local number may prevent Candler home values from rising as quickly as other regions in Asheville Metro.
