Located southeast of the city?s urban core, the community of East Riverside and East Oltorf contains a plethora of apartment buildings, restaurants, hipster coffee houses, business districts, strip malls, parks, golf courses, local businesses and a 102,000 square foot HEB on the eastern edge- the perfect place to score some aquas frescas close to home. The iconic Austin music venue, Emo?s, recently moved to the corner of Riverside and Burton, and continues to host an assortment of live musical acts. Additionally, venues like the Beauty Ballroom have recently moved to the area (Riverside Drive and Royal Crest.) The neighborhood is about twice as dense as the city average. Many families and young professionals have moved to the area in recent years, attracted to the convenience of nearby downtown Austin.
