Neighborhood Description
Located southeast of the city?s urban core, the community of East Riverside and East Oltorf contains a plethora of apartment buildings, restaurants, hipster coffee houses, business districts, strip malls, parks, golf courses, local businesses and a 102,000 square foot HEB on the eastern edge- the perfect place to score some aquas frescas close to home. (The HEB Riverside has an aquas frescas stand located in the store.) Residents of the neighborhood love to jog on the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail, which is easily accessible via a brand new boardwalk. The Mabel Davis District Park is south of Oltorf and was recently completely restored with new picnic tables, trails and a swimming pool. Locals congregate to the park on weekends- enjoying the pool and the nature trails. The neighborhood is also home to the Riverside Golf Course, formerly Austin Country Club, a public golf course which has been open for over 60 years. The iconic Austin music venue, Emo?s, recently moved to the corner of Riverside and Burton, and continues to host an assortment of live musical acts. Additionally, venues like the Beauty Ballroom have recently moved to the area (Riverside Drive and Royal Crest.) The neighborhood is about twice as dense as the city average. What I love about the home

I travel quite a bit for work, so the fact that the condo is a hop, skip and a jump from the airport was a real draw for me. I could get in my car and be at ABIA in about 10 minutes. When I?m home, I feel connected to all the downtown activities available, but I?m far enough from the city center to avoid the hassle of living in downtown Austin. On any given weekend, I can catch a cab downtown to hear a band or hang with some friends at a restaurant or bar, and it?s a 5 minute ride. There are countless choices for food- anything you?d ever want- so I never have to worry about finding the right restaurant or having to travel across town to eat dinner. I?m close to Lady Bird Lake and the hike and bike trail. By far, living at this location has been my favorite part of owning this condo.
