Ideal home for the Silicon Valley executive wanting a family home in a semi-rural setting but close in location for convenience to schools, shopping and a short commute.
SCHOOLS: The public schools are among the highest rated in the Penninsula-South Bay area; Gardiner Bullis Elementary (K-6), Egan Middle School (7-8), Los Altos High School (9-12). Pinewood (private), St. Nicholas and St. Francis (parochial) are also nearby.
HOUSE: While modestly sized (2400 ft2), the house has a 700 ft2 elevated deck with access from the main living areas to ehance the effective useable space and encourages enjoyment of the California outdoors. The home's interior was completely updated in 2005 and has a chef's kitchen (granite counters, Wolf range, Sub-zero type fridge, double ovens, custom lighting and cabinets), new bath rooms with granite counters and custom cabinets, Anderson windows and doors and is very comfortable to live in. Hardwood floors in the LR, DR and kitchen, tile in the BRs, carpet for the rest. The home is a Spanish style with stucco exterior and an orange tile roof. There is an attached 3 car garage, a basement workshop, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, and a back deck with a hot tub. LOCATION: The property is 5 minutes from Main Street Los Altos, 6 minutes from the El Monte Rte 280 entrance, 13 minutes from the Page Mill Rd / El Camino intersection in Palo Alto, and only 19 minutes from Shoreline business park (e.g., Google headquarters) in Mountain View.
PROPERTY, LOT, LANDSCAPING, VIEWS: The property is 1.2 acres and moderately sloped. The landscaping is predominantly drought resistant California native plants. There is a small cabernet sauvignon vineyard (130 vines) that produces about 1.6 tons of grapes per year, under contract to an award winning Santa Cruz Mountains winery. The home has beautiful views over the vineyard, and beyond the vineyard over the adjacent 90 acre apricot orchard that was the former home of HP founder David Packard, the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains to the south and distant views of San Jose to the East.

Quiet street with no through traffic. The town has 1 acre minimum zoning. There is a house being constructed on the lot next door that will have 7500 ft2 of interior space.
